Lexington Estates holds a special place in my heart as it was developed by a close friend of mine who passed away in 2008. The subdivision is named after his two daughters. He was a great guy as well as a great builder. He built my current home and the home of several of our friends. I think his wife is still building homes in the area, not sure. If you are interested let me know and I can put you in touch with her.

Have you considered contracting out yourself? It'll save an assload of money!!

Where do I start? Im sure obtaining the proper licenses, inspections, subcontractors, etc.. would not be worth the time and headache to build one house.

I'd wonder if places like those you're looking at would allow do it yourself contracting. Don't they have approved builders lists or some shite like that?

I'll tell you where you start if attempting building it yourself. First off you better have at least 40% of the cost of the project on hand in cash. At least that's what lenders were telling me when I was kicking around the idea 2 years ago. That killed toying with the idea for me.

Neither Lexington or U-Club will allow you to build your own
