The police not coming out for every property damage report bothers me less than a lot of the stories do.
They will come out, but all they will do is give you a piece of paper to give to your insurance company.
You are at the bottom of the list. Probably 5-6 hours to respond.

You mean to say that there are penalties for defunding the police and then creating a justice system that's basically a revolving door for criminals?
Seriously why bother if you are a cop? You arrest someone today for armed robbery, they likely won't even get charged in New Orleans.

Us sane human being saw this coming miles away.

The DA will crack down on that.
Just nothing else.

I think if we laid it all on the table nopd is a heavy contributor to this issue too. Having recently dealt with them, I’ll say they were eager to bash the DA during my interviews but we’re not near as eager to collect evidence that would support a viable case.
“Did they knock on your window with a knuckle or finger?” “Honestly not sure, I think knuckle but not 100%” “ah oh well I guess you can tell what I was trying for” “ummm we can still look, also they grabbed at the door handles so you might catch a print there” “oh yea good idea - we can try!”
Within minutes of the incident: “So I already contacted the business this happened in front of and they have cameras out front and are pulling the video for you right now” - “oh great” ……. Next day speaking to the business “yea they never came. We called them today to offer the video but they didn’t take it. Do you at least want it?” …. That night the detective calls and accepts the video from me over 24 hours later. There were two attempted car jackings 5 mins and maybe 7 blocks apart that night. You’d think that would’ve been something they’d want to tie together and maybe even grab a license plate for the bolo.

People forget that things were actually worse in New Orleans before that bill.
They may have been worse in sheer volume and police corruption; but the incidents were primarily in the seedy areas and the infamous projects named Cooper, Florida, Desire, and the brilliant high rise Fischer (which served as a sniper’s dream for vehicles on the CCC or law enforcement).
Today it’s the LGD, uptown, Lakeview, and Audubon on the front lines. That wasn’t the case in 1994.

With what police? They won't investigate shite. A murder is a murder.

Do you know what happened last night? We heard what sounded like two dozen shots then saw a shite ton of cops flying down St Louis after that...but haven't seen any reports or anything regarding the matter
edit- just saw the NOLA.com article and well frick no wonder we could hear the shots so clearly

Southern Miss basketball Coach Jay Ladner had his truck broken into at the Newman game last night.

The crew commented that they were just grateful that they only had their shite stolen and weren’t murdered on set by the lead actor/ producer.

St. Thomas was in the LGD. It was ground Zero for crime in the city back then. There was tons of crime Uptown, too. Murder outside of Fats, etc. It's not as bad as it was back then, but it's definitely really really bad right now.

But but I can eat delicious red beans & rice in Uptown or the Quarter without worrying about unvaccinated swine!
There are lots of stupid takes with how bad the city is, but this kind of mothbreather is is the worst.
I've seen takes just like this on facebook - right after complaining about gunshots in the upper 9.

Pretty sure most of the crews down here are right-leaning. Maybe not the ones who aren’t pulling a real paycheck yet.
