I would just like to know how many times the average poster on the OT has been married when they post things like that and the reasons for their divorces. Furthermore, I would like to know if any of them place any amount of blame on themselves for their divorces. It’s a two way street and I don’t doubt that women cheat just like men do, but I don’t doubt that each party is to blame in each instance in some way.

While the circumstances that Created the situation in which infidelity was even a question Involves both partners, the decision to actually do the act is 100% on the cheater.

I feel for the guy and the 15 year old daughter. Surely he still loves her like his own.

Me too. That's a difficult situation for that guy. What do you do? Tell a kid that's known you as dad her entire life that you don't want to have anything to do with her now? frick that woman.

Agree wholeheartedly. I often wonder if, and this coming from a 25 year old never married person, the two in union go into the pact with immature notions of marriage. From observing my own parents, married 30 years, they’ve fought like siblings at times and have become exceedingly annoyed with the other as is I’m sure completely natural for two people to be married.

However, I believe that they didn’t go into marriage believing that days like that would never happen. I believe that they went into marriage in an almost old fashioned nowadays mindset. That they choose this person to be with until death and that no matter the differences between the two, will remain together. I do not think they took their vows lightly as I think a lot of people do now.

Apparently my father got someone pregnant as a teen and she was sent off and put the baby up for adoption.

Have not met my 1/2 brother but I have met his son...he is the one who connected thru Ancestory.com.

100% certain my dad never knew.

Yes. Very sad for the dad and the girl. He would still love her but that would be a pain I could not imagine. F that wife though.

I got one for my SO this year for Christmas. She’s never met her real father, doesn’t even know his name nor what he looks like. She’s more interested in the genetics side of it because she wants to know what type of ailments she’s more predetermined to be harboring for later life.

Her story is a weird one and she’s done exceedingly well for somebody in her situation that she inherited as a child.

Apparently that's what he did. He's still raising the daughter but got divorced.

Kind of torn. On one hand I’d want to protect my kid. On the other she deserves to know the truth about herself. And that her mom is a whore.

Lmao, I’m not white knighting cowboy! Just pointing out that there is room to blame on both sides. However, as fr33 succinctly pointed out, the decision to cheat lies on one party altogether and I agree completely.

If they have the opportunity to cheat they’re gonna cheat

That’s why you have to make sure they’re always pregnant

If that child is over a year old, you're basically screwed.

The laws in Louisiana were extremely fricked up in that regard.

You basically had to have a paternity test and disavow the kid by a certain age or you were fricked, whether you knew or not.

I believe the laws are starting to evolve on that issue though.
