It's sad when Canadian athletes tend to show more respect for the American flag and national anthem than our own. Many athletes around the world are thankful for this country.
Reminds me of the time Usain Bolt did the same. Much respect to him for this.

Never mind the helmets- there may be some on the jerseys in the space usually reserved for the name.
This idea will get scrapped when a web address suddenly appears promoting a local entertainer.

I was flipping through the channels last night and saw the pelicans game was on. I would normally watch a little but my immediate reaction was just disgust.

Interesting. (Seriously. Not being a smartass) I never would have guessed there are that many Canadians in the NHL or that many who aren't from Canada or the US.

Most of the pros are doing it because they love playing the game. Yeah, they get paid well to play, but nothing compared to NBA and MLB. It's very rare to hear about a star holding out and bitching for more money either like other sports. They're tough as nails too. They play hurt, toothless, and half blind sometimes because they love the game and their teammates. I'd love to see LeBron get some teeth knocked out on the court and watch how much he would be coddled by the sports writers. I doubt he would return to the court. Hockey players scoop up the teeth (if they ever find them) and throw em to the trainer to be put back in after the game.

Sorry, good point. I should have said I was using the normal TD definition of "socialist" countries, which includes Canada, Sweden, Finland, the Czech Republic, Denmark and Germany.
