His left arm already wasn't working because of tremors but he watched the execution of conspirators nightly. With his right hand he probably jacked.
Stauffenberg got off easily if you consider being killed easily. He was just shot. The others were hung by piano wire.
Then of course Fegelein was killed. Braun still married despite "protests".

The nasty trick the nazis used was to garrote or hang a person, using strangulation instead of breaking the neck, then revive them so they could do it again.
Effectively multiple death sentences, and it was just for their viewing pleasure. Pricks.

Was it really piano wire or was it maybe just regular wire? I think it was probably just plain old wire and you decided to embellish a little. Make it a bit more romantic? Add some flourish? A little creative license thinking no one would be the wiser?

That's one thing about the human race - sure can come up with some sadistic things to do to one another. Crucifixion, the covering with honey and tying to an ant pile, the thing about sealing up in a boat and setting adrift in a pond or lake, etc. etc. Not sure what that says about us as a species.

I believe something like 2500-3000 people were executed after the plot? But ironically Hitler and most of his staff committed suicide less than a year later.
