As the great Chipper Jones said, only douchebags call Atlanta "Hotlanta".

And you're from Georgia, you should know better.

Except for the College Football Hall of Fame, that city is an absolute shite hole. A 100 degree day must beyond disgusting. Like a giant smoldering turd.

I actually find the CF HoF to be a huge disappointment. The touch screen exhibits...awful. The first floor is a complete waste. There's one section that's interesting and coincidentally it's the section that has the cased exhibits - only uniforms and gear, info on huge games from the past, etc. They need to expand on that stuff and limit the screen based interactive bullshite.

Yep. It’s a masterclass in wasted potential.

How did Atlanta not hit 100 last summer?

"Official" 100 + degree days are pretty uncommon in most of Georgia. Atlanta is relatively high above sea level compared to most of the south. And of course when the "official" temperature is 98 it is pretty reasonable to assume there is a heap of 100+ degree readings in town.

And I've lived here almost my entire life. I know it can hit 99/100 here, it just doesn't happen very often.

Shouldn't be a Steelers fan then

72 times in 96 years the "official" temperature has exceeded 100 degrees in Atlanta. 29 of those were multiple times in the same year (5 years total). So 43 times spread out over 91 years is about once every 2 years.

Good find.

Backs up my point that it doesn't get that hot here often.

Enjoy dude. Love that area. The icelandic parkway is one of the most beautiful drives.

We are driving through Banff on Saturday to get over to Golden, BC where we are staying for the bulk of our trip. Can't wait. The pictures are amazing!

We are doing the Icefields Parkway on the way back to Calgary.

I'm all for downvoting a lot of your douchey posts, but this is not one of them lol. Not sure why this has garnered the negative feedback.

The Banff/Jasper family trip we took when I was in college was a top 3 trip in a long list of trips that we had the fortune of taking through the years. Absolutely beautiful area of the continent.

There's one area of the museum that is really cool but it's just so underwhelming overall. The floor where they have the stuff on all the inductees are just big touch screens. So instead of folks walking around looking at busts or photos of all the legendary players, you have them standing there looking at a screen where you have to go search for specific players. Awful. You can sit at your computer for an hour and do the same thing at home.

It's fine. Downvotes/upvotes don't bother me.

If I come across as douchy that is definitely not my intent.

Augusta, east Georgia by any measure, averages just a little over 4 days a year with an "official" temperature in excess of 100 degrees.

Valdosta, about as south Georgia as Georga gets, averages 1.9 days a year.

Pretty uncommon anywhere in Georgia or anywhere on the east cost for that.....

That said 95 in Valdosta or Augusta is more uncomfortable than 95 in Atlanta most of the time. Atlanta is nearly 800 feet higher than Valdosta and nearly 1000 feet higher than Augusta. Anything above about 92 or so seems hotter than hell to me no matter where it is....
