I know two prosecutors that left because of the way he runs the office. Both had the same story about his lack of leadership.

He is too nice and it affects him doing a proper job as DA. Again, thought he could put down the criminal defense hat and switch sides but he hasn’t. The criminals don’t fear Hillar and this (along with other factors like the judges, the mayor, etc) is the result. Fact.

The white knights for Hillar Moore, DA of EBR, have decided the better strategy is to stop posting trying desperately to defend his office. This new strategy is to just let this thread hopefully die by dropping down off the first couple of pages so people don’t see it anymore. It’s a good political strategy and it works.
So one last post from me and this thread will die, unless another person who thinks Hillar Moore is doing a great job wants to post? I’ll be happy to retort with some reality in the face and keep this thread on Page 1.

Is the DA prosecuting cases referred to his office? Opposing bail or advocating for higher bail? If so, the DA is FAR down the list of people to blame.

Just reading through this thread - and I know Hillar Moore and his family personally - if you are so up in arms about it (I agree with your OP btw), you should organize instead of spouting off on in internetland.

You have no clue the effect a strong vs weak DA has on crime. The DA should be feared by the criminals. The DA is on one side and the criminal defense attorney is on the other. Hillar Moore was a criminal defense attorney and NEVER a prosecutor before he was elected. He is weak on crime. Nice guy but weak.
Hillar Moore forgets his job is to prosecute to the fullest extent of the law. The defense attorney has the opposite job. The judge is supposed to just be a ref (unless it’s a judge trial) between them to follow laws/procedures.
Hillar Moore forgets which side he is on.
Hillar Moore, you should fight harder for the victims of crimes and try to punish criminals as hard as you can. By not doing this, criminals have no fear walking into criminal court. The result is higher crime rates and worse crime.
I remember a time not too long ago that the prosecutors in EBR did not play and the defense attorneys had to beg for a deal. Now the defense attorneys laugh at Hillar Moore and his neutered ADAs.

Maybe he should lay off the bar scene and have training classes for his ADAs on requesting and conducting bail contradictory hearings because they are a joke. The victims and law abiding citizens of BR are not being represented.
