sweatbands above the elbow serve absolutely no purpose. Can you name a purpose for sweatbands to be worn above the elbow? If you can name a purpose other than looking cool then let's hear it... If not then HUSH

So, what is YOUR reason for not allowing idiot? Oh, it looks cool. Cannot allow anyone to look cool.

Hush, that is funny. I am guessing you hear that alot.

Retarded. I played RB in HS and I always wore sweatbands right above my elbows.

It prevents your upper arm/shoulder sweat from dripping down to your forearm (which is what you brace the ball against as you run).

Do your forearms sweat? Yeah, no shite they do. But wearing armbands right above your elbows cuts down the sweat on your forearms by probably 30-50%.

This. 95% of these kids are not going to play anything after high school football so why not let them get decked out like they play in the NFL?

They made that a rule my senior season 2006.... they said it was because kids were taking it over the top.... wearing like 10 wristbands. I'm ok with it... I wore them on my forearms because I was so swole bra

Tell your so. He looks like a douchebag wannabe. Take them off and stop trying to be an individual in a team sport.

Where does he play?

They put that old conservative mans rule in my senior year of ball.

Never got to wear my wrist bands

It's not safety. It's "that's not how we played the game" rules.

Just a bunch of old timers trying to influence old relics on the new age kids...

I will say that it has gotten excessive over the years with these kids. What I hate the most is when guys wear different color cleats/shoes/socks. I like my teams to be at least uniform in their attire.

Uniform rules come from NFHS rules committee

They are universal and supposed to be enforced in all HS associations

.Bunch of whiny old men that want the game to resemble what it looked like for them made that rule. Get over it, things change and evolve. Stop trying to impose your old, boring, backwards, and rigid tenets and relics of yesteryear on these kids. They are dumb wrist bands, it's not like they are smoking dope out there

Look good, feel good, play well.

Trust me, I don't like showboats but players can be individuals and show off their personalities and still play within a team concept. But I do can see how your can draw that conclusion.
