You really don’t think a top notch trim carpenter running his own business and crew could make $180k
Sure they could, but for every carpenter there's 100 engineers making the same thing.

It actually is easy.
Three principles of my business.
1) communicate-good news and bad and bad news first
2) be where you say you’re going to be when you say you’re going to br there
3) do what you say you’re going to do when you say you’re going to do it
It really is easy to follow these simple rules. Sadly for them many don’t and that’s why we thrive.

Truth is you can be an engineer making 60k/year after taxes or a trim carpenter with a small crew making three times that after taxes. You can have a STEM Ph.D. and make 30K/year working slave hours or have an MBA and waiting tables. I know a guy with a 4-year degree in Accounting that decided to go to SF selection because he couldn't find a job here.
If someone with an accounting degree can’t find a job they must be the worst interview ever. Plenty of jobs for accounting grads out there.
And people with MBAs aren’t waiting tables either. That’s just stupid, unless they have an MBA from some BS online college.

The "lender" is the federal government. But Trump is about to change all that (plus the government will already run out of money in 2021 according to the CBO.)
When social security, Medicare and interest on the debt comprise 100% of the federal budget, there is literally no money for student loans, or any other government services either.

No, you have any idea how much it costs to trim out a new construction house? Not the 1200 sqft 2BR/2BA you probably live in, but something from 3,500 to 8,000 sqft and more? Charging per sqft under-roof? Amazing the level of ignorance that these threads bring out...

I in fact have. I work for a major firm in a major market.

Not according to the IRS and Department of Labor, but they obviously know less about it than some old frick that lives in Alaska.

Why are you so bitter? You seem incapable of having a conversation on this forum without putting down the people who don’t share your viewpoint. It’s just conversation man. Open your mind. We’re always learning.

Agreed. You think the 1% represent the population.

Young tradesmen can do well, but if they don’t work into a management position their body will start to fail them as they age and make work very hard or impossible
A bad back, bum knee, diabetes or arthritis are inconveniences to a 50 year old white collar worker, but many carpenters, plumbers, machinists, etc. with such problems end up applying for disability or are forced into lower paying unskilled jobs (Welcome to Moe’s!) that arent as physical.
Some folks don’t have a choice, but young folks who have an opportunity and ability to get a degree shouldn’t pass on it lightly.

Arguing against official government statistics isn't a viewpoint, it's retardation.

I'll have a conversation with you, but Roger and this other clown are the most low IQ posters on this site.

I make about 86,000 a year as an elevator technician. My specialty is that field is the PLC and electrical work. I was making 60,000 as an apprentice.

Do you have health insurance (provided through your employer) or any company sponsored retirement account? Serious question.

We have both but you are correct that both are sorely lacking in many trades. We’re the exception in companies as small as ours.
The union shops definitely have benefits packages for their employees.
