Well good bye to a terrible retailer...

hhgregg, a Midwestern electronics and furniture retailer, is closing all three of its south Louisiana stores as its shutters 88 underperforming stores across the U.S.

The chain said Thursday it would close its stores at the Mall of Louisiana in Baton Rouge; at the Westbank Village Shopping Center in Harvey; and at 8839 Veterans Memorial Blvd. in Kenner. All of the stores have been open since fall 2012, when hhgregg made a push into Louisiana.

I'll BOLO for a good discount but figure they'll ship the good inventory to other stores.

That's what they get for not hiring me in college.

If the 1980's retailer Service Merchandise had a millenial child, it would be named HHGregg

i bought my fridge from there a couple years ago

they did a price match...ended up saving about $800 on a $2800 fridge. I can see why they went out of business

The thefts at Service Merchandise back in the day probably were more than the money they made at the store

When I was shopping for appliances, their prices were notably higher. When I asked if they had any bargaining room, the guy leaned in and told me to go to Best Buy because they have better prices. He was right.

mattresses will be a good deal.

The key to HHGregg is getting your sales rep to get manager override or just have a manager ring you up. Their reps can actually lose income by dealing under standard margin. They will absolutely deal though

I purchased a couple of flat screens from them. They had some killer deals - probably why they are shutting down.

We got our fridge and washer and dryer from there. They had a really good deal last memorial day and offered interest free financing for like 3 years.

I wonder if they'll have a giant going out of business sale.

All the wasted money for extra H's and G's probably didn't help.

Just go to Best Buy. They don't work on commission and will still work to get a better deal or at least price match.
