Back day sounds good I can afford to cut a bicep workout or 2 as my arms are out growing the rest of my body. My dad asked me the other day if I'm doing curls every day lol

I got back tonight so I'll give them a shot

Make sure you get on youtube and look up form. Deads will snap yo shite with the quickness. I like Mark Rippetoes video on Deads by Art of Manliness.

Do y'all mostly do deadlifts on leg day? Can't decide which muscle to incorporate them with. I have a 4 day rotation:

Chest/tri/core
Back/bis
Shoulders/core

I used to be a staunch believer in the breakout you mentioned, but I've come around to the fact that you simply have to work legs twice a week. They can handle such volume and generate such overall strength.

Add deadlifts to the back day.

I know we got similar takes on a lot of lifting. I'm about to start a thread about some plateau thoughts/issues I've been having. Definitely better see your thoughts in there!

There is no way I could do legs twice a week. Front squats/High bar, walking lunges, Stiff legged deads, leg press cow raises (SWIDT?), seated cow raises and lying leg curls.

I do deads on back day and squats on leg day. There is no way in hell I could do both the same day.

I need at least two days in between Back and Leg Day. In fact, right now I do Back on Tuesday and Legs on Saturday.

I like the snatch too but don't talk about the king like that.

You seem like you know what you're doing. Honestly, I just do things to change it up. When it comes to pullups, I will do heavy weighted (45 lbs+). Then, if I plateau, I will switch the routine to something like a 20 lb. vest and start doing the pullups eccentrically (6 seconds up, 6 seconds down). Elevator pullups are great too.

For sure. My upper body lifts had a significant increase once I finally got serious about legs. Feels good to get that base back

split workouts for the past 22 years.. hahah

its doesn't take much to switch it up within those routines. Switching gyms every now and then and having access to more than one gym helps tremendously.

I never got into all the "named" workouts, but there are a few good ones out there. Almost any routine works just got to stick with it and match the one that will match your goals.

There's a guy at my gym and his upper body is freaking stacked. But, man, he never works out his legs. I can't even look him in the eye.

He really looks like this, but with a much bigger upper body.

I'm far from someone you have to convince about the benefits of olympic lifts. However, if you don't see the benefit of adding in some deadlifts to augment your olympic training, I'm now sure what to yell you.

Also, for the common person, engaging in a program heavy on olympic lift is overly daunting and potentially dangerous. I love the benefits of it, but (unlike some) don't think it's the end-all/be-all for everyone who wants to lift.

I'm not sure if I have the stones to take a sneak pic (or if I'm just morally above taking pics of dude's lower bodies), but there's a guy at my gym who has that exact upper body with smaller legs. I shite you not.

They're so small I almost wonder if it's some sort of a disease or injury and I shouldn't make fun of him. If he doesn't have any restrictions though, it's point and laugh bad.

About a year ago I'd always skip leg day and started to notice I was getting the jail house body. Even started just wearing wind pants to the gym because I got self conscious about it lol. Finally got serious about it and now my calf and quad growth is what I'm most pumped about.

I have a good gym. My peeps love Deads and Squats. We haven't had an episode of curls in the squat rack in 4 months. We have a days without accident poster for curls in the squat rack. (not really but it would be funny)

I could really use some size in my legs, but my upper body isn't big so it's not all whacked looking.

My issue is I've had some accidents that have never healed completely. Shattered left ankle that will never be the same, fubared right knee, right hip injury that has popped out of socket several times, fractured tailbone twice that left me in pain for months at a time, and to top it all off my L4 and L5 is shot.... So me doing core and leg weighted lifts is almost impossible. :/
