I have lots of people here in SD offer to let me go to their place for thanksgiving but I decline. I am cooking myself. Making myself a feast of chicken fried steak and a peanut butter pie

This.. i’m away from home this Thanksgiving.. as long as there’s football on tv, and some good dessert in the fridge, i’m a a happy guy.. it’s actually kind of awesome to not have to deal with family crap.

Oh, get over yourself.

I love my family, but when everyone gets together, sometimes there’s drama, politics comes up, traffic going to and from can be a bitch- it’s nice to not have to deal with that occasionally.

I am by myself today. My neighbors are the best though. They are from Puerto Rico and don’t cook turkey. They will have the best pork dishes though, which I like.Cocunut Rum,Salads, Fresh bananas from my trees..Lemonade made with fresh Louisiana lemons. Satsumas, grapefruits and oranges. The boat is in the water tied to a tree in the backyard. We gonna be alright.

I’m in Houston on reserve, so sitting in an apartment by myself. Think I might head to a Golden Corral and stuff my face with turkey and other assorted meats then chill and watch the Saints game.

Wish I was home with the family, but I’ve spent so many holidays away from home in the oil and gas industry and now the airline industry that it’s just normal now.

Just hope I don’t get called to go fly later on as I’m gonna be in a turkey coma.

What a rags to riches story.

Can’t wait to read the book...

I spent Christmas alone last year. I was sick as a dog and no way I could get on my scheduled flight on the 23rd. I pulled the rip cord when I tried to shower and had to throw up half way through

Woke up Christmas morning feeling like a brand new man. I was starving and realized I had basically no food in the house. Hadn’t even thought about the fact that I’d need food once I felt better.

Went to a restaurant and I thought the poor 19 year old hostess was going to cry when I told her I was by myself and would just sit at the bar.

I felt the need to tell the bartender my story so as not to get any more pity. He did give me a drink on the house though!

Capri suns must really hit different in the bing. Like a ten thousand dollar bottle of wine.

Hit the gym earlier, totally empty.

Made a pretty bitchin' lasagna last night (always better the next day) and am currently eating a big arse slice while I get a bunch of work done.

Fireplace is roaring, house is quiet, not a single call, text, or email from anyone to bother me.

God I love Thanksgiving.

A wise message indeed. These are the hardest days for the sick, lonely, isolated, divorced, estranged etc. Extend a hand of friendship.

In 2016 I took up someone I worked with's invitation to go to their house for Thanksgiving and I had a boring time. It sucks when you know nobody and also having to deal with all their family drama.

I said never again. Went home in 2017/2018 so this is my first solo thanksgiving
