The chief of police of the Uvalde, Texas, school district initially told the public there were "some deaths" in the wake of the Robb Elementary School mass shooting that left 19 children and two teachers dead.

Now a top Texas law enforcement official says that that same person — Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District Police Chief Pete Arredondo — was the on-scene commander during Tuesday's massacre who authorities said wrongly made the call to delay authorities from breaching the classroom where the gunman carried out the deadliest US school shooting in a decade.

Everyone is outraged at the police on this. Hindsight is 2020, let’s blame the absolute monster that did this and not the police officers trying(and maybe failing) to do their best in a shite situation.

The police didn’t even try dude. It’s 100% inexcusable. No one is saying the sick frick that did it isn’t to blame but this shite police force has 21 peoples blood on them.

They absolutely did not do anyone’s best in that situation. You cannot defend refusing to engage a shooter while you stand around and listen to it happening.

They completely failed the situation. They did nothing at all.

I actually don’t know all of the details, so maybe I am out of line. Of course I still say the real blame is on the skirt wearing freak that did this. But isn’t the police excuse that it was a hostage situation? So engaging could potentially cost more lives?

Their job is to protect and serve. They failed miserably to protect in this situation.

Arresting and tasing parents outside for begging them to do something. They all should be prosecuted

It was the Boarder Patrol Officers who went in and stopped the killing. Would love to hear comments from them.

Probably pretty poorly. That guy needs to lay off the donuts and grow some balls. He looks like the poster child for sleep apnea!
