Live Oaks are considered an evergreen oak.
Yeah, well, not according to my dendrology textbook.
So you and gardenia.net can get bent.
Edit to add: looking into the distinction being used to say a Live Oak is "evergreen" is a technical argument. They keep their leaves during the winter so they're evergreen is dumb definition. They still drop their leaves yearly, making them deciduous.

Evergreen oaks drop their leaves. Their leaves would be classified as "nearly evergreen" and becoming more deciduous in northern areas.
I just pulled this from my dendro book FWIW

And mine calls them "almost evergreen," neither of which is "evergreen."
This thread title needs to be adjusted to include dendrology.

I think the point here is that they will still have their goddamn leaves right now
but if y'all want to turn this into a dendro fight, I'm here for another 2 hours

Live oaks aren’t deciduous or “more deciduous” bro. Define deciduous. And frick JBE (to stay on topic).

This has been firmly established. LSURussian can not argue otherwise.
But like happens with most topics, we've gotten off into the weeds about technicalities.
