The Nordschliefe course they ran at Nurburgring is 12.94 miles long. Porsche shattered the previous record by over 51 seconds. They just utterly destroyed the record. Their AVERAGE speed across the course was 145 mph. The car topped out at about 225-230 mph on the final straight.
The fastest speed ever recorded in Formula 1 is just over 231 mph.
Porsche were HAULING arse around that track.
