Which makes him old as frick. Men who serve in those types of roles don’t normally last long when they step away. I know he was in private practice afterward but still. Hell of a run.

Which makes him very old now, yes. The OP was saying he was old in the early 1970’s. He was not.

Well that doesn’t exactly make him a war criminal. Perhaps the post was referring to the policy that kept us in Vietnam

Pretty much. War criminal is a strong term that depends on how you interpret it. One man's terrorist is another's freedom fighter, etc.

Definitely wasn't a nice guy and certainly not a hero.
