How'd you end up in this pickle?

One of the dealers I was talking to in Georgia required me to trade in my current vehicle. They offered $22K for my Tundra but my payoff is $36K. I told them to take a hike.

I'm currently leasing a Tundra and won't accept $22K for it when the purchase price from Toyota is $36K.

Huh? WTF does that mean. How do you think you can trade a lease vehicle?

I can buy it at the end of the lease.

In this case the dealer wanted me to trade it to him for a loss.

I just purchased a 2020 a few weeks back, found one close enough to what I wanted and bought off the lot.
Some of the options are a little confusing, best deals I found were about $7,500 / 10%ish off sticker. what state are you in?

The ones who continue to talk to me require a trade or for me to use their 6.9% financing

Ford is notorious for this. They did the same to me. Only way I could get another $1,000 off. Trick is after you make the first payment you can re-finance with anyone. I ended up using my company credit union to go from 6.9% to 2.X%

Whatever you are willing to pay. Cut $3000 off of it and shop online. Probably 50 dealerships within driving distance, somebody will bite. Works everytime. Also play dealerships against each other
