Babin(?)--a boude face

Sometimes it is difficult to get an exact translation of Cajun French. But we came pretty close with Boudee and Babine being pout and frown. At least you get the picture!

Bruh, it’s the past participle.
Are we defining the person or saying the action is currently occurring?
I would assume a gerund or present progressive.

I really need to start using babin again.
Especially with how many Babins I know

Yes, you boude with a bobbin on your face.
This is a thing in Chackbay/Thibodaux. Don't listen to the dumb baton rouge ppl. They try appropriating all our culture.

Would pick the Sonic on Hwy 70 across the Sunshine Bridge, but they shut it down. Can't have nice things on that side of the Mississippi River anyway.

There is a Sonic on Canal in Thibodaux, but I'm not driving all the way over there, unless it's to spend the night with one of their women.

Do you list a phrase for "i feel sorry for you"? or something to that effect. We used to say something like "a fid la pan". Maybe someone else here will know what I'm talking about.

Faire de la peine - to grieve
Ça me fait de la peine - it grieves me

How about the word eaurage( sp)?
Posted on 10/31/23 at 8:10 am to sonuvapitcher
Since we’re on the subject, what is the word when something is dumb? My husband says something that sounds like “pah-don” (as in “that’s padon”), but google hasn’t helped with a real spelling.
