More expensive than your average WD. Sandwiches are on point. I pack a couple away for airline trips and save money on shitty hotel food.

Congrats to all you OT ballers who consider WD inexpensive.

We po folks try not to go there.

As a girl I dated said when I handed her something in an Albertson's bag (THICK Southern accent): "Oh, Albertson's... The rich people's store."

But holy cow the prices are insane.

I think you answered your own question. You pay for good shite.

Publix also typically has a much larger selection than other chains.

Winn Dixie used to be great, but is slowly dying. I try to use local mom and pop places as much as I can.

It is capitalism! When you are at the beach, you know everyone must buy groceries and will pay whatever price necessary to get them!

It's a unionized, national shithole, and has been for at least two decades. Not that Piggly Wiggly etc, are any better, but there is a reason there is a flood of people to Walmart. We can have the discussion about the value of your degree later.

I can’t help you figure out Publix, but I figured out how to get around them.

Costco at 10am on a Sunday followed by pick up order at a Walmart Neighborhood Market. Bulk and high quality food from Costco and savings at Walmart.

I don't even know if you're that kind of Baptist, or if you're just avoiding them. Either way:

I can say this without a doubt….H-E-B/Central Market is without a doubt the best grocer in the country.

Publix has done a great job for 50 years or so of producing very nice stores that people enjoy going to. Clean, good customer service etc. People don't like to buy food in places that are dirty, smell bad, have rude workers and so on. And for that, they charge more. You have to shop BOGO as much as possible.

What's to figure out? They're clean, organized, stocked, and occupied by friendly and intelligent employees and good looking MILFs. Most if not all lanes are open and the buggies are collected from the parking lot.

It's obvious their business model is "Be the exact opposite of WalMart"

Publix is for people who don’t need help figuring it out.

Winn Dixie isn’t overpriced
It's consistly higher than Rouses or Walmart.

And yes, Publix is higher than almost all others with little to no benefit as a result of those higher prices.

So, complying with federal standards, state standards, and corporate standards.

What you're failing to grok is that H-E-B in Texas are clean with nice people, stocked shelves, but your shite costs more than what we pay. Within 2 miles, Kroger costs more, with less variety, Walmart is fine on price but has even less variety, but yet H-E-B stands on the shining hill of variety and savings.

Publix is somewhere you shop because your alternative is awful.

ETA (Remove the last half of my statement because it didn't make logical sense.)

Not having a Walmart Neighborhood Market here in the Spokane metro has been a disappointment.

Lots of Safeways around and a few Fred Meyers, but I’m a Walmart fan.

Just grab a pineapple and turn it upside down in your cart. You’re welcome.

HEB by far is the best grocery store in Texas all around by a mile.
Great meats, Seafood is fresh and good produce.
Shite that’s all I need. And have all the other stuff if you need it and then some too.

When you think about it, it’s truly jaw dropping to think how much extra money we pay to avoid the trash.
