I need to redo the top half of my bathroom shower.

2 walls are 4'11"
2 walls are 2'11"
from where I start to ceiling will be 2'7"
I am also tiling the ceiling with same measurements of
4'11" and 2'11"

How many sq feet is this?
I'm terrible at this stuff.

350 ft^2

ETA: For real, right around 55 ft^2. Not counting for any waste.

length x Width= sq ft

they make calculator apps for this

are your walls 4' x 11"

or 4' x 11'

always add 10% overages for cuts and materials

Based on these figures, how many aliens could you summon if the walls were purple?

Dude, if you are tiling the ceiling, yourself, and you can't calculate length x height...then all I need to say is wear a helmet whilst showering.

I'd stay away from ceiling tile.

Assuming you mean 4'-11" and 2'-11"... with a height of 2'-7".

That's a perimeter of 15'-8" x 2'-7" = 40.47 ft^2 for the walls. Simplify to 16x2.5 if you want easier math... which gives you 40.

Then the ceiling, with is basically 5' x 3', another 15 ft^2... add to the original 40, you get 55.

It's not a huge ceiling. The thinset should hold it fine as long as I mix it thicker.

using this as guidance:

quote:

from where I start to ceiling will be 2'x7"

That means this wall:

quote:

2 walls are 4'x11"

is going to be about 12.7 square feet, so since you have two walls, we're talking 25.4 sf2

Now this wall:

quote:

2 walls are 2'x11"

is going to be about 7.5 square feet, so since you have two walls, we're talking 15 sf2

Last wall:

quote:

I am also tiling the ceiling with same measurements of 4'x11" and 2'x11"

is going to be about 14.3 sf2

Add all this shite together and you get 54.7sf2, as someone previously mentioned.

Add 15% to that because your cuts will cause material waste and you're going to frick something up here and there and you should get about 63 sf2 of whatever shite you are putting in there.

I don't think that's right. He typed 4' x 11" and you're changing it to 4'11"

Wait a sec... when you type:

quote:

4'x11"

Are you saying 4 ft BY 11 inches... or 4 foot 11 inches?
