ForeverLSU30 Jr. is working on his SS project for school. He is discussing the impact of the attack on Pearl Harbor on Louisiana's residents.

We are having a little trouble finding stats on how many LA members of the Navy were stationed in Hawaii, how many died/survived, & subsequently how many served in The Pacific.

Our Google searches aren't producing much directly specific information.

Does anyone have some links or references they could share (that he will the read & cite accordingly)?

Thank you for your assistance.

The Higgins boat created by Andrew Higgins was crucial in the battle of Guadalcanal, Iwo Jima, Okinawa, Philippines, etc.

I think it might be difficult to find exactly what you are looking for on the internet, but this site might be helpful. I don't know how old he is but perhaps profiling a couple of veterans may be an easier project.

Jackson B Davis, who went on to be a Louisiana state senator, was at Pearl as a young Navy man. He died a few years ago, but he often spoke about his experience. There may be some interviews or articles out there you can find. That’s all I got.

BIG reach between asking for some links to help him research vs. doing his job in 15 years...

But thanks. Bless up.

The WWII museum had a good exhibit awhile back on the war and Louisiana. Might be a good idea to take him there and talk to someone.
