Why the hell does any employer make you get there at 7? That's ridiculously early if it's an office job.

This is how my office does it, people can start heading out at 330 and helps us to avoid traffic.

AM should be fine, one trick would be don't get all the way over to the left lane on I-10, that will let you bail out to the old bridge if needed. I-110 Northbound is never a problem in the morning, if you don't count the gravel trucks driving 10MPH below the speed limit in the center lane taking out windshields as you try to pass them.

In the PM, plan on taking the old bridge then stop downtown and ride out traffic either at a bar or the YMCA, then at 6PM finish your drive home.

Coming back is gonna be the worst part. You can't ask the owners to move shop closer to your house?

I'm going to start working at LKQ on commercial drive. I'm not worried about the afternoon traffic my wife will pick him up it was just the morning I was worried about. I work from 7-4or5 depending how long it takes me to get my route done. I wish my son's school was like other schools where you can pay for early morning childcare but his school is 7 in the morning on the dot.

You should be fine. It's right there by the bridge so you can easily make it in 30 mins. The ride home is going to drive you completely insane, though.

Keep a bicycle chained on the Baton Rouge side and bike across the bridge every day. You'll get there faster.

no he isn't. Take LA1 to the Old Bridge. Exit anywhere close to downtown and take the surface streets or River Road back to Bluebonnet. Simple. If he takes I10 he might as well start looking for a home on the West side now.

I get from my house near Bluebonnet to my job in the vicinity of the airport in about 20 minutes unless there is a particular snafu on the interstate. 30 minutes to Port Allen is easy.

That's completely retarded.

He could get on the bridge at LA1, take the Nicholson exit, then go surface streets. Old bridge to downtown when he works at the foot of the new bridge is a total waste of time.

if there is no wreck on the bridge, maybe so. But if you are familiar with the traffic on the west side you would realize that my suggestion isn't as retarded as spending roughly the same amount of time actually getting home as opposed to sitting still or creeping over the bridge.

I live on the west side dude. I know about the traffic there. personally, I'd rather be moving than sitting/creeping along. And if he gets on the MRB at 4-6PM he will likely be creeping along.

OP, try both routes and let us know how it goes.

I'm from PA, so I know the drill. I'm sure you're used to traveling on 190 so the old bridge is more practical for you. Making a complete loop to go through downtown makes no sense at all. Plus 110 east backs up horribly at 4:30-5:00 anyway.

Bluebonnet to Burbank to Nicholson to interstate

is by far the slowest route if LSU is in...taking perkins to the perkins on ramp is faster. The only problem on 10 is from the split to Dalrymple and half the time that isn't even bad.

yea if you have to get to Nicholson (especially if coming from PA side) I would just cross the bridge and get off at Nicholson. Would be faster than making loop all the way around. Unless their is a wreck on bridge shutting down a lane. All bets are off in that case.

more based on personal experience trying to get on the new bridge at peak traffic hours. I don't dispute that, under optimal conditions, your route will be quicker. I do dispute that conditions are generally optimal. I'm also assuming he will know to get the hell off of I110 at his first opportunity.
Yes, I use the 190 bridge in a heartbeat if the MRB is its usual cluster. But again, I'd drive an extra 30 minutes out of my way rather than sit in traffic.

So Waze is going to reroute him across the bridge how?

I love Waze, but it can't work miracles.
