I wonder if they have an easy way to ID primary residence owners vs. those that have vacation houses there.

Well, it’s easy to find gas, water, and food these days. Even for free if you can’t pay for food and water.
Crazy to see the power company have to completely rebuild the power infrastructure from the ground up in many of these area. These last areas that are still out may be waiting awhile.
Drive through Biltmore Village and there’s nothing left. Everything took on water.

Update:
America Rocks
Went on a mission to obtain a generator for an older couple and could only find them 5 hours away.
Arrived 30 min ago and bought one and while bull shitting in line with another customer walked out with two generators.
The couple behind us heard us talking about the hurricane and bought me another to bring down.
Been somewhat of an emotional roller coaster and just blessed to be able to help and have such a great SMC family that actually gets shite done.
5 hours back to NC, truck camping tonight, back at it in am.

I've heard some complaints from locals that people are coming in sightseeing under the guise of "helping". Basically they ride around in a truck or sxs with a cooler and occasionally ask people if they want food or a drink. Gives them an excuse to be there and probably some good FB photos of them "helping out".

Not shocked at all, have you seen how vapid a society we have become? All style, no substance, and with the ultra specialization we have today it's not like the average person can really contribute in these situations.

I know it sounds dumb, but there are too many volunteers. Wellness checks are being performed on the same people 5 times over in some cases. At donation sites, volunteers are standing around with nothing to do.
The ones who are doing great are the guys with their ATVs going out to the hard to reach areas that have no road access delivering supplies and cutting trees.

Coffee roaster guy is on his last day. He’s done many of these for other disasters so has lots of contacts thru that plus his customers live all over and can provide insight. Will have provided 4 generators by end of tonight. Has put folks losing all up in hotels for 30 days all paid with food paid as well. Taken trees off houses and tarped roofs. Helped cut trees for road access. Helped build a walking bridge for washed out driveway. Its not a big crew but it makes a difference in the lives of those he helped.

Update.
Dropped off the two generators this am.
Y’all were true to your word and sent some more money for generators.
So I have one loaded and another coming out and two places to drop them accompanied by a healthy gas supply.
You guys are who makes it happen.
Can’t tell you the look on peoples faces when you show up out of the blue and get shite done.
Thank you.

I bought 5 lbs of his coffee beans Friday. If it’s decent coffee, I plan to buy from him exclusively from now on. This guy has earned our business.

Just thinking that a LOT of the homes around LL and Chimney Rock are second homes. I wonder if they have an easy way to ID primary residence owners vs. those that have vacation houses there.
This is certainly true on our end of Lake Lure, not a lot of year round residents. The easy way to verify people would be by requiring some proof of ownership like tax or utility bills and their DL. I can show I own property with various bills but my DL shows my primary residence is about 100 miles away. There is probably a time that is reasonable to keep just property owners out but not restrict full-time residents access. Then a later time when property owners are allowed in but people that are neither residents, property owners, or legitimate relief workers are still restricted.

Just remember, his orders take a few weeks normally because he makes to order and is not bigly staffed (2-3 people counting him). And due to him being gone all week plus will get extra orders it will likely take longer. So be patient. His coffee is the best I’ve had and I get the beans and grind myself. He’s in Daytona Beach and you can go by his store and have a cup - but its not set up for walk in customer but tell him ahead and he’ll make a pot for you. He has a cool sitting area. Also. With newest hurricane models that might slow him down too, if DB gets hit.
I use the medium blend Privateer but whatever blend you like will be good as I’ve tried them all. He was going to do medium samplers before he left to help with hurricane, so look for that soon.
But orders can take 2-3 weeks so be aware. You can PM him if your order is too long as well. He does not advertise either, and will tell leftists to not order from him. In his world customers are family and he has helped many of them in need.
You should follow his twitter he messes with lefties all the time. He also has a running back and forth about BBQ tastes. And his steak posts are funny, he likes to cook well done and makes fun of lesser cooked steaks (all in fun).
Be aware that his CFO posts on this same account. “E” is the owner and posts mostly. And E has never changed in the 4 years I’ve followed. Here is an example from today someone downplaying the severity and pumping fed help (E is on ground and can say what he has seen or not which he has not seen the fed help):

Chandler, NC — any reports?
I’ve read conflicting things and just going that they’re getting help in.

The power outage website has shown marked improvement in all states, even the Carolinas. I’m sure there will be those last very hard to get to spots but progress is definitely being made. .

Hard to tell. For some reason it has become the focus of a lot of hysterical conspiracy type posts that don't seem to add up. It doesn't help that a lot of the "I heard......" posts refer to it as "Chandler".

Well I read a somehow hard to believe post or 2 but they both say Candler.
One is that 200 people were found in a church ok.
Another is that 2000 people haven’t been reached and are hungry.
Would love for the first to be true but hard to believe either.

I bit my tongue yesterday but not today. You post some retarded fricking shite in this thread.
Literally every county in WNC is asking for volunteers and says they will need them for months.
Greensboro and Charlotte are not WNC.
What sort of dumb frick people are you following that say there are too many volunteers lol?
