Well, as I am watching 60 minutes report on how insurance companies have been screwing over homeowners, 50k plus claims still pending from hurricane Ian (per whistleblowers from the insurance industry), I am reminded that Florida decided to gut their insurance laws this year. Please pray for those poor people, they have little chance of getting paid for their damages now

Same ole shite from Katrina. It was so bad my engineers ask me to independently blind hold a bunch of reports from other engineers, who suspected that the insurance carriers were changing their reports. (I was trusted by everyone) I had a ton of them, it was looking like indictments were coming then the Scruggs shite hit and they all walked.

Maybe the next president will allow the investigations into their conduct to occur.

Approach from the east 421 is a fine four lane road much of the way and that doesn't show closures right now.

Coming from Florida it's a bit out of my way to go 421. If it's necessary it's necessary.

Ice and gas has been penciled in as definites. Also bringing a couple chainsaws and multiple chains. They currently have running water on their mountain. Maybe a propane tank or 2 type shite. A lot of the sugar mountain residents are there just for the summer and are elderly. They need to get tf home.

This will all get dumped into the Swannanoa River which the area was already devastated. This will continue to flow into Biltmore and dumped into the French Broad again.

Yes... but have seen subsequent reports that the dam is going to be fine.

I'd still get out if I lived downstream just to be safe.

Terrible news
If you check the comments The Town of Black Mountain said there is no failure of the dam. There’s going to be a lot folks on Twitter salivating for clicks and shares.

If any of you know people in the Cajun Navy personally, tell them that their efforts are greatly appreciated. My parents live 25 minutes east of Asheville. I was there Thursday night/Friday morning during the storm. Those communities will need all the support they can get to rebuild.
