Yes it is. The farmers market has great tomato pies.

You keep denying MSM is not covering this story. I have been watching CNN all morning and 90% coverage has been about Israel, Iran, etc. This country has a severe problem when it comes to putting Americans first.

The media bastards used Katrina as a weapon against the Bush administration. If this happened under Trump, it would be plastered over every outlet. As such, they don’t want this to negatively affect Kumula, especially in a battleground state.
Joe Biden and his usurper Kamala don’t care about white voters…
When they find a group of blacks not getting enough help (just like everyone else is not getting enough help) they will jump on it. Kamala has said FEMA aid should be distributed to focus on blacks and other people of color.
I feel like the victims actually in western NC and eastern TN need more attention and per capita help in $ (adjusted for inflation) than victims that stayed in New Orleans during Katrina as they didn’t ignore evacuation orders and days & days of warnings a huge hit was incoming.
So will a celeb televised fundraiser be done here quickly along with FED help. Brad Pitt’s children hate him, so he has some extra time to help build houses again…

The word you were looking for is logistics, not crises.

to help get people out or even just drooling food and water.
That seems cruel. Why can’t they be dropping crates of food and water to victims instead of drool?
Kidding. I know what you meant.

They came, but it was after 3 or 4 days. There was a lot they could have done if some units could have gotten here sooner.
I know a bigger response happened later, but I thought aircraft was flown in behind to survey with maybe a few units deployed to some areas (maybe had more of defense or strategic purpose as initial reports including from governor were that canals and levees held up).

Thank you, this is exactly my frustration as well. Fox Weather coverage is the only one trying to but they are only focusing on Florida and their coverage in general has been terrible
CNN
CNN
CNN
CNN
Four different stories on cnn.com alone. Top two are about Helene and NC specifically. Helene’s impact has its own section on CNN’s website. And that’s just CNN - everyone else besides Fox is covering this.
You’re either lying or you’re completely inept at using the internet.
ETA: You can go to CBS News right now and the number 2, 3, and 4 stories are about Helene. MSNBC’s most watched news article right now is about Helene. This is not being ignored. You’re trying real hard to create a false narrative

The day after Francine, Walmart had its transportation department in Houma ready to cook meals in the parking lot.
Now that was a different disaster where the roads were not as impacted.

Screw articles. I want live on the ground coverage in real time to see what is happening. I want real time updates from the Federal Government and FEMA. I want to see the military being sent in for search and rescue and for operations centers to be set up for water and food for people. None of that is happening. You're the one pushing a narrative instead of worrying about your family. If my family was in the precarious situation you said yours was in, I wouldn't be on here that's for sure.
If this had happened to Atlanta or Miami, never mind NYC or DC, EVERY SINGLE regularly scheduled CNN program would be preempted right now for live coverage. That isn't happening. Right now CNN is talking with stupid House Speaking Kevin McCarthy. CNN is largely ignoring this disaster and the other legacy media are doing the same.
CNN would have 24/7 coverage with 5 reporters on the ground already if this was happening in NYC, DC, Atlanta or Miami. NBC, CBS, ABC would be all be preempting regular shows and programming to bring updates on the coverage. Say what you want, THAT ISN'T HAPPENING!!!

I googled "news"
The second and third stories are about Helene and the second specifically was about North Carolina.

Cool
Guess that settles it then as to why there is little to no on air coverage of one of the worst natural disasters we have seen

The terrain definitely makes this more difficult and with the flooding, unlike on the coast, watercraft can not be used. Really the only way around WNC right now is by chopper and aircraft. That's why the military needs to get in now with that equipment.

One side has been stoking racial division for years. Don’t cry when other people call it out. This should be wall to wall coverage and the other stories should be relegated to their websites. I can’t imagine how warped I’d have to be to defend MSM when we’ve all seen the games they play. They’re reporting what they’re being told they can report.
I hope for the best for your family but you’re far from the only one with loved ones in the middle of this.

Oh I’m sure there was some of that initial survey stuff happening. The Coast Guard was def in right behind the hurricane rescuing people in south La.

Large sections of Augusta are now without water, including the military base.

Yep and I think even some of this board don't understand the gravity of what has happened. The rest of the country definitely doesn't since it's not being reported on air by the major news outlets.
This was WNC's Hurricane Katrina. When it's all said in done this will be one of the costliest disasters (both in terms of human casualties, economic damage, infrastructure damage and property damage) in U.S. history. This will be right up there with Katrina, Andrew and 9/11 in terms of the human and property devastation. Far more devastating than events the media has all but stopped their regular programming for in the past to cover, like school shootings and riots.
There are communities in WNC that will take a decade to recover. Places like Chimney Rock/Lake Lure, I hate to say it, I'm not sure if they will ever fully recover. It's going to be like Bay St. Louis, Long Beach, Pass Christian, Gulfport and Biloxi in MS after Katrina.
I-40 will probably be out for several months. I-26 might not be quite as long but will still be out for some time. I-40. is a major east/west route and that's going to cause major transportation (both commercial and personal) issues for the foreseeable future. Eastern TN and Western NC are economically connected to each other, and yet right now they are largely cut off from each other. Water plants and Power stations are going to have to be fully rebuilt. It's going to be a multi-decade recovery for the region.

It’s 2024. Internet articles are where most people get their news. You’ve been up and down this thread claiming that the media is ignoring these when there are many, many news articles about this. You’re a liar.

There is plenty of videos/photographs that the media is showing. I even linked some for you.
If you’re expecting CNN anchors in rural Western NC you’re going to be waiting a while cause it’s kinda hard to get there right now.

The White House intern finally woke up and realized a hurricane had impacted the country:
