You can tell because the weather channel is still taking its normal commercial breaks

Edit: readings from an 10:53E

Is that a time stamp? 2 hrs ago?

The highest recorded for Valdosta was 39 gusting to 58 on the detailed data that Legend showed me how to find.

ETA - Then they may have lost the instrument and/or power after 11:45??

I'm in New Smyrna Beach, about 10 miles south of Daytona Beach.
We prepared for a lot of wind and rain, but got practically nothing of both.
No feeder bands or squalls or anything of substance.
Power didn't even go off.
Go Figure.

Gainesville hit 41 gusting to 61 then stopped reporting.

And that’s eastern time so 1 hr 20 min ago or as the eye was on approach but not yet close.,
I doubt the instrument failed at 40 mph but perhaps the ability to post updates failed? Lost power / internet connection?
The problem with depending on real time reports is when the reporting mechanism fails.., but I’m sure they are still collecting data that will be made available at some point.,

I'm in Moultrie (little over 30 miles from Valdosta). Getting rough here. 80+ mph winds.
Edit: wind speed gotten from WALB weather app

Perry hit the 55 gusting to 99 that the NHC mentioned then hit 52 gusting to 76 on the back side out of the SW. They still seem to be reporting as of 15 minutes ago (nice robust systems with backup power I assume).

According to my Fox 8 weather app, Valdosta GA has sustained winds ESE at 91 mph It appears the northern eyeball is passing over now or just passed according to radar.
One thing to consider about some apps is that they may be pulling data from a forecast model instead of current conditions.

Not sure what that app uses but the NWS has 36 gusting to 49 at Moultrie airport. But it is only reported every 20 minutes and your location may be closer to center or have stronger bands.

Keep in mind that you are seeing a measurement taken every 5-20 minutes. The Raw data has continuous readings.

This is interesting and pretty cool. It is the source of the extra time that the HH plane spent circling in the eye.
