She’s one of those rare whites Hispanics the media talks about when it suits them. Her father is a Mexican ‘businessman’, I wonder if she is a US citizen and eligible to be mayor?

Mexican is a nationality, not a racial distinction. Mexicans can be white, black, Indian/native, or mestizo (some combination of native and another race).
