Heavy Heart with Amazing Closure

I began playing a weekly Wednesday night friendly poker game about 3 years ago. Most players above 50, with some as young as 35. Many different personalities and never a dull moment at the table.
Last week a fellow member, whom won Wed. nights final game, became ill and in short suffered a surprising death; which caught everyone who knew of him off guard. Six months from retirement from his job of 42 years.
Last night, the poker group decided to honor his passing;
we all drank his preferred "tall baw Bud light 16's," and decided on the first hand dealt, to deal him in on each table. We had two tables with 8 players on each. So, hold-em flop comes 565, turn 5, and river K. Meanwhile, two player's are all in, both had low pocket pairs: 2's and 4's so they boated, we then reveal our tribute; that baw had 58 non-suited. Quad-5's Amazing! In the last three years, I haven't seen him with quad's before... so, my table is going nuts and the other table is suspicious of our rambling... more amazingly, he was also dealt 58 non-suited on the other table, but I am unsure how the cards played out.
To me, that instance verified that He was present in spirit last night and to all the other's among us at the table that grew up with him and have known him since childhood, looked relieved to feel such closure and comfort knowing he was overlooking.
He will be dearly missed; Hopefully he is at peace!
If you wish to share such stories, feel free. In the meantime, let all who love you know you love them cause life is too short and can change in a second.

Incredibly touching story. I could never get 16 people to meet weekly.

Would have been cool if it was A8.

He was 58 when he passed
His birthday and wedding anniversary were on 5/8
He was 5’ 8” tall
He had 5 brothers and 8 sisters
His grandkids are 5 and 8 yo
His favorite number is 5 ever since he was 8 years old
He has 5 letters in his first name and 8 in his last name

Man, sorry for your loss.
I have a weekly poker game for the past 20 years, and I'm the new guy. We sometimes briefly discuss the game once we start to "leave." A year or so ago, one guy started coughing, had a little lack of oxygen, then passed out and fell flat on his face. He promptly woke up and asked us, all standing over him, what the frick we were doing. Gave us all a little scare.
And yes, that shite about spirits and ghosts and shite is real.

Thanks Bro, I was on the fence about this big time. But you've settled it for me.

I bet he had one hell of a deadpan expression of a poker face.
...Good story!

Yes, we did collect to support his wife that made the final purse look foolish. Which these games are not "high roller" games at all.
