I'm not living on the same side of a city with gunfire on any nights. that's an indication of some very crappy neighborhoods. not living anywhere near those.

You can hear Hollygrove gunfire from Northline in Old Metairie.

This happens to some mid city neighborhood streets because they are right slap next to the hood

If you’re hearing gunshots on a regular basis that’s not a safe neighborhood

When I hear it, I normally step out on the porch and empty a mag from my MP-5. 30 rounds in 2 secs. That sends them a message.

You joke, but when the kids up the road start shooting at night and the dogs start barking, I dump a 25 round drum of 12 gauge.

The silence is worth it.

Man, I’d hate to be your neighbor... about once or twice a week I’ll take my guns sour back and shoot a few times. You must be a gun hating democrat....

Nice way to bring politics into an innocuous question about gunfire.

You ought to pat yourself on the back.

I'm a staunch supporter of the 2nd amendment but if you live in an area where hunting is very unlikely like the inner city, gunfire generally isn't something positive.

It depends. If its an old white guy with an AR15 then its a real problem.. He could be a white supremist or mass shooter.

If its a young black male gang banging.. Dont worry about. Its not a problem and you should defund your local police to correct the issue.

I grew up in uptown on the fringe of the hood.. Weather like this we would sleep with the windows open and you could hear gunshots pretty much every night. There were some bullet holes in the roof of the house. I live in Metairie now and the most I hear is the endless supply of the firework guy.. At random times you hear fireworks popping off..

my first night in my new apartment in baton rouge (north side of lsu in 2000) i heard 7 gunshots after dark.
The old milking parlor at LSU had a bullet hole in the plexiglass coming from the north.
my third apartment in baton rouge, I walked outside to do laundry and stepped on a spent 45 slug that had gone way way up and come down and imprinted with the concrete.
The above three incidents were thugs
My current situation is poachers, but at least they are good shots

I use to live right on the edge of south baton rouge and heard gun shots once. If you are hearing multiple times a week you need to move

I grew up in the 70119 zip code of New Orleans - there are very good neighborhoods and not very good ones

Needless to say my tolerance is pretty high unless it’s in my yard and not me shooting
