They are hunters.... they hunt the most dangerous game.
Hunting? Good God, General Zaroff, what you speak of is murder.

Sorry baw, I smuggled an M249 home from overseas piece by piece. Sometimes I just feel a need to watch the tracers.

You get use to it.

At night when everything is quiet especially during the week or it is cold where less people are out you can hear gun shots along distance away.

Relatively safe neighborhood, but it’s pretty common to hear gunfire a few nights a week

Relative to what, Mogadishu?

In Baton Rouge go to Airline Hwy and Goodwood any given night from 9 pm till 1 am and you have a 98% chance of hearing 10+ rounds fired from the north.

We hear gun fire all the time but only hunters. Dove season is nothing but the sweet faint sound of shotguns in the distance. I cannot imagine listening to gunfire that was directed at people constantly

Hearing gunfire on a regular basis

Evidently, at least according o a local politician, there are major gun battles every night in Covington. I live 4 blocks from the “action.” I guess the sound of gunshots doesn’t travel that far. Since I evidently live what you are asking, I will do what I currently do...sleep.

Gun shots don't bother me. The near constant fireworks do.

We have a loud fireworks issue.

Obviously you haven't been to the murder capital of the US called St. Louis. Gunshots downtown daily! Never go there.

I can honestly say I've never heard gunfire from my house. There was a month or so period this summer where nearby people were popping off fireworks on a nightly basis and that was annoying as hell.

But that seems to have subsided.

Used to hear it a 4-5 times a month at my old house in Bayou St. John. Only a few were real close, one of them including the cashier at the gas station on the bayou firing at guy trying to rob them. A couple of rounds even went into the can company building
