After following Texas Flat for about 10-12 miles, you will come across a fork that directs you either north or south on Highway 607. Go north by taking a right. This is a picture of the sign you will see.
This will be easy to follow. Texas Flat dead ends at 607.
It's 12.5 miles.

Friend,
Thank you for your precision. It was quite a long road and last night there was a beautiful thunderstorm with intriguing lighting flashes in the distant north.
“Some people call that dry lightning.” Mother sharpened her claws in the front seat, as she knows more meteorology than many trained professionally in the field. “But I can assure you that is a large thunderstorm replete with all the accoutrements of one: lightning, thunder, downdrafts, and rain. While there are dry thunderstorms that exist, primarily in the Southwest, where rain will sometimes evaporate before it hits the ground, it is rare in the Southeast for such an event. You do not hear the thunder because we are so far away.”
She then showed me her radar screen and sure enough, radar showed a large thunderstorm 30 or so miles north with precipitation and hardly a budge in movement.
Be careful if you travel in dark conditions, as the lighting is non-existent through those backwoods. Los marineros solo necesitan las estrellas para navegar, and if you lose cell service, pull over and look to the skies. The general direction is northwest.
Yours,
TulaneLSU

Also, shortly before it dead ends there's a set of blinking amber lights.

I also spent a lot of time yesterday sitting in traffic on I-10 - (aka the greater Bay St Louis parking lot.)
During this time, I was contemplating those "shovel ready projects" that a previous administration crowed about...
A motorcycle went by on the shoulder and I finally realized that the California lane sharing concept might actually have some value.
Not worth the huge risks, but seemed valid at that moment.
Was also thinking about the Hwy 90 options, but the West Pearl center span lift bridge is closed after failing an inspection. The West Middle Pearl bridge also failed as did the Middle Pearl. The East Pearl center span pivot bridge is supposedly out, but I can't get there from here so I am not sure...
Yes, gotta love those shovel ready projects that never got any attention...

Imagine if one comes in the slot.

We live in Pass Christian and headed out to New Orleans yesterday. Took me an hour and a half to get the Stennis Exit, who’s about 20 miles from my house. Also, they are building a Buc-ee’s at the Menge exit and that bridge is about to be taken down, the interstate widened and basically a traffic train wreck.

I-10 from Slidell to Pensacola is a major PIA. The bridge at Moss Point is always a mess even without a wreck. Of course the tunnel is amazing cluster frick. Add monster SUVs driving like sports cars and 18 wheeler who don't give a frick it is no wonder why Bart advertises along this corridor. If it we me I would leave the beaches at 4 am and high tail it back home to avoid that entire corridor of frustration.

Yeah it took one of our 18 wheelers 4 hours to get from Biloxi to Mandeville yesterday

And this is supposed to last until August 11 not just 2 weeks. They are doing one side and then will switch to the other to fix an expansion joint.
WLOX
Some casinos better offer me a night stay or more free play to go through that mess.

I remember in July of 2015 LA DOTD was doing work on one of the bridges and there was a near total closure for several weekends in a row, but US 90 was an option. Traffic was bad, but I could only imagine how bad this Sunday will be.

WTF? Is this a continuation of the work that had travel backed up, what, last year or so?
And, shite, I just made plans to travel to BR on the 22. Wonder what the chances of it being cleared by then will be.

Just wait until the Bucee’s is there. That is why they are doing the work there to improve the exit for the new Bucees going there.
I live on this exit.
I am not looking forward to this

Me neither. Sometimes I will use Menge as my shortcut to Island View to avoid the traffic on 49. But I guess I can just take the next one. Or just get off in BSL.
