Going in August as well. 22nd-26th.
Jones might say the same -- I picked up the entire tab as his graduation gift.
ETA: Miami actually cheaper and for a 5-star hotel on the water, so I've been having some remorse. But Miami costs a LOT more to have fun.

Got a vendor to pick up tab for that trip though

His birthday is the 22nd and that's what the trip is for so we may be there. Wife shot down the idea for me to bring 19 year old sitter with us so I won't be bar hopping.
I haven't booked it yet cause I still have playa del Carmen this werk, aspen second week of July and sandestin 4th week of July.

Yea I'll go back sooner than later probably. It wasn't so much the money being spent that bothered me but the trash that we were surrounded by looking to get something out of us. There are so many hanger on types there it's insane, especially when you're with a large group. Next time I go Ill be sure to forgo the clubs and all that shite and just go to regular places and try and meet normal people.

Did a guys trip out there last October for 4 days, plus have had a few business trips out there for 5 days at a time. Things I try to do
1. Golf at Pauite. Rates are not bad, even with renting clubs. 3 beautiful courses to play.
2 Race expensive cars at the track. I did Dream Racing last time. Pricey to do, but you will be hooked after you do it.
3. Get whatever shows look interesting at the half price ticket booth for shows.
4. Do eat at the Ceasars buffet, dang it is awesome.
5. Car museum at LINQ Hotel. Print out the free admission from their website.
Plus the other items listed here.

Awesome
Cubs are playing Braves during that time, so I'll be buying tickets to that. Just to see Wrigley.
Not sure what else. Goose Island brewery and Revolution brewery.. and reservations at Blackbird and Girl and the Goat.

Last time I went we mostly did things outside of Vegas during the day. Did Hoover Dam, hiked Red Rock Canyon and the Valley of Fire, which was amazing.
We also went to the Mob museum in downtown Vegas, which was a really cool museum.
We did restaurants, shows, gambling at night. Not much of a club person, as I prefer an old school bar or lounge. We rented a car for Hoover Dam and the hiking, so we also checked out places off the strip.

I usually stay center strip and hang out at the better casinos and it's not as bad. I used to go to O'Shea's but it's no longer there, I believe. Best bang for you buck in my honest opinion is the Venetian/Palazzo two queen bed room suite. Usually around 200 a night but you can legit sleep up to 6 in there with no one on the floor.

Just the one bed was huge when we stayed there.
My hotel in Chicago is a 4-star and 1/6 the size of Palazzo room
Vegas definitely has amazing hotel rooms.

We actually got a bad arse rate at the Cosmo, lodging wasn't an issue.

O'Shea's/Riviera/Stardust/Slots O Fun were great go-tos for years in the event you blew a bunch of money quickly and needed to grind at cheap tables and get s-faced. I think O'Shea's moved to that Linq thing (formerly Imperial Palace), but it's not the same. I think Riviera and Stardust have been blown up. Not sure where you can find places like that anymore.
There are a million lounges and bars to drink if you don't want to spend hundreds at the clubs, but obviously the chicks aren't there. I always enjoyed Houdini Lounge at Monte Carlo, where they used to have people doing cheesy cover tunes.
