But gas stations aren't making money on gas, how will they turn a profit?

I’ve seen this posted a couple of times and I have serious doubts that fuel is the loss-leader that people make it out to be; however, for the sake of argument let’s say that it is:

Station sells gas at $1.90 and loses $0.10 per gallon. This does not mean that the station paid $2.00 per gallon; they probably paid $1.60 per gallon and have $0.40 per gallon in costs to operate the station and delivery of the fuel to the station.

If the company in the OP can operate at less than the $0.30 per gallon in my example, then they can turn a profit on gas that the station can’t.

The above is assuming that stations don’t make a profit on gas. I think they probably do, though they like people to think otherwise. Though it is possible that I’m wrong about that. But I know the station nearest my house is making money because that bastard charges 80-90¢ more than anyone else in the city and still has people filling up all day long. So there’s obviously a market for convenience, even at greatly exaggerated costs.

That CEO comes off as a major D-bag to me. Last part of the video wasn’t as bad but the first part he was terrible.
Did we watch a different video?

What in the world was douchey about that guy?

Hell of an idea and I hope it does well. I hate filling up my truck. It's a waste of my life. I'd rather spend that time doing what I want to do, not what I'd forced to do. I drive a diesel pickup, so I doubt they'll ever have a fleet of diesel fill up vehicles, but who knows?
