True, but fortunately, there are people who are making a career out of questioning it. I employ several.

I’ve been trying to use it more and become more familiar with it. One of the things I’ve learned is to treat it like a team member (offer feedback) instead of just asking questions. I’m going to use it more next year with fishing. I want to start logging data on water temp, fish caught, lures/water clarity etc and see how it does recommending fishing locations, etc. Depending on how much hunting I do this winter, I might do something similar with a hunting journal.

So close we can touch it.

This question of "IS IT REAL?"" underscores the necessity for NON-censorship at platforms like Twitter/X, YT, and yes, Tik-Tok (targeted for extreme censorship).

Those platforms at least provide needed eye-witness testimony (we can't do anything about Bots flooding the cyber-zone with lies and diversions.) IF they are censored, we will have completely lost the "Reality War" as "Truth" itself becomes suspect.

Are you stupid? Giving OpenAI your face for public use allows for anyone and everyone to make AI generated videos that are damn near impossible to discern from real life videos.

How could this not be viewed as something that is scary? Don’t just assume everyone will only use it to make funny/amusing videos and never make something possibly damning?

Plot twistier: we've always been there.

What is AI but something that can be a useful tool, or something that can create a "reality" that isn't real.

Photo manipulation has been around since...photos. It's think the picture of the giant chicken, or Stalin erasing his comrades turned rivals from photographs.

Hell, you can go back before that.
How many people believe Napoleon was short. (We have a whole small man complex named after him.)

He was normal size but his detractors drew him short and now most people believe that.

How many rumors got started and spread until they became common knowledge.

Now, at least you can instantly ask "is this picture/video AI?" (Even when it's painfully obvious)

Once, I was a Luddite.
Then a Neo-Luddite.

Now? I've learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb.

It can be a tool of great power if wielded with care and craft.

Like it or not, it will be a part of life. And eventually, you will embrace it as well. Either that or be the flip phone weirdo.

I just used it to get my wife out of a speeding ticket. Grok found obscure traffic/construction zone regulations that I never would have discovered using Lougle.

Seems it would better to employ people. Not good to replace humans with AI.

My wife runs her written work stuff through it. She used to have me edit it for her. I do not miss having to weigh how I would write something with it sounding like it's by her. Her and her boss were talking about it and he thought she had been running stuff through AI for years. That was a pretty nice unintended compliment for me.

I've been a first adopter for decades but I just don't care for AI aside from image creation. I do know enough that I can spot them quite easily. I do love fricking with Amazon's AI. Riveht0welhead gets pissed when I call "him" out as a fake AI agent.
