Not that one, but my friend's mom fell for a guy who told her he was from Texas & working in Nigeria. Asked her to cash some money orders & wire him the cash, since banks over there are unreliable. We told her not to do it, but she did. And was out $1500 when the money orders came back as fake.

I did. Son of a bitch said he'd send me $15 million but all I've received from him is is $10 million.

And to make matters worse, I can't deposit it all into my account because my bank won't allow deposits over $5 million. And I need that money to pay for life saving surgery for my sick grandmother. Needless to say, I'm getting desperate.

But if you'll send me your account information, I will deposit the other $5 million in your account and let you please keep half. All I need is your account info and I'll have it deposited by end of business tomorrow. You get to walk away with a clean, clear $2.5 million. Can you help me?

My grandfather who was 90+ at the time used to fall for this when they did this by snail mail. The bank said he was conned out of at least 100K over the years. The ole you send me 10K and we'll send you 20 million when we get the funds gig. People would say they were WWII vets and needed to bury a soldier, (5K) etc, etc. We were pissed that the bank didn't tell us what was going on and I don't think they caught it until tons of money had been exchanged. He finally tipped us off one day when he made the comment that the whole family was inheriting a few hundred million dollars and not to worry about college tuitions and so forth. He was a proud old man and extremely embarrassed when we told him what had happened.

Don't trust that a-hole, he really just sends you doll hairs. TBH I wouldn't be surprised if he isn't even a prince...

The best one is the Nigerian astronaut who's been stuck at the space station since the 90s and his family can't collect his back pay until he returns.

The sad thing about these scams is that a lot of elderly people fall for them. I saw a Dateline episode on this and it blew my mind. So many old people in their 70's or older jump on this stuff.

My grandmother was scared that the IRS was after her, based on scammer phone calls. I'm not sure she's convinced it's not legit.

Those people are scum.

A naive young Barksdale Air Force guy, who grew up in a very religious family, was taken in by a similar scam by a pretty "girl" who said she was in Nigeria and wanted to come visit him. "She" had him cash some bogus money orders to buy a plane ticket.

The Feds prosecuted the poor sap for wire fraud but, miracle of miracles, the jury acquitted him. They thought he was a dumbass, not a criminal.

The guy is probably in charge of nuclear missiles and shite now,

I do not like thread titles ending with "..."

That is so frickin' annoying. Please complete the title.

I didn't read your OP or anything inbetween.
