I bought 1oz gold buffaloes and 1oz silver eagles about 15 years ago. Just sitting on them in case something goes sideways.

I think with the dollar cratering though this might be different. Our debt issue is a major problem.

I purchased a bunch of silver when it was $18 an oz. It's $53 today. I'm waiting because I think it'll go up more. I have some gold too

It can be hard to find silver for $53. Physical silver is being bought and sold in China for the equivalent of $128 an ounce. Silver may be undervalued.

It’s more than a meme. Try to find a bank that has safe deposit boxes available in the north Dallas suburbs. Two and three year waiting lists are what I found until a teller told me they were opening a new branch. I showed up an hour before the new branch opened and was probably 30th or 40th person in line.

Seems like a business opportunity.

I will never understand the gold bugs. They talk about how much value they have in terms of, wait for it………..DOLLARS per ounce! When the dollar crashes I would rather have a pound of beans.

Don't get it. Gold has no practical use in today's society. Yes the dollar is being debased because of debt and deficits. But i'll take non dollar denominated stocks and bonds and real estate instead. Or currency shares. What am I missing about gold and it's use? You can't buy stocks or real estate with it. Pays no interest or dividend

If Congress doesn’t get a handle on the debt, precious metals will be an excellent investment. In fact that investment may be the only way of holding on to,some wealth. Our system of government cannot control itself from spending others money.
