Have you ever written a Yelp review?

I cant imagine signing up for a website to review my meal, especially if I’m not being paid to do so. Only way I think I’d do that is if they pissed me off so bad I wanted payback. But to write a review and take pictures because I enjoyed my meal?

Yes, but only for services (plumber, mover, etc)

Only when supporting a larger tiger droppings effort of retribution or ruin

Was this the first topic you ran across on Reddit?

Once had a chef bribe me for a good TripAdvisor review. I obliged.

What’s so hard to understand about that. You know, to some people, food matters. It’s more than just substance. It’s more than just piling a load of shite into your mouth. You want to remember the food meals and you want to help people find those good meals.

I worked at a restuarant in college and the guy who started it took a risk and was working 80+ hours a week on his feet so he could pay for his kids' college and have a better retirement. I think the reviews were fairly mixed but it was annoying to see people either on this website or Yelp trash his business in some cases for subjective reasons (not cleanliness or service). Most people who think to go in depth about eating at a restaurant are losers with too much time on their hands.

Don’t think of it as a review. Just think of it as starting a shitty thread ... you’ll be a top yelp reviewer in no time.

I agree I think yelp does a disservice to restaurants as a whole. The only people I think that really take the time to do this are mad, so thus lots of bad reviews. And I’ve worked in restaurants long enough to know some people just come in looking for something to be pissed about.

Let’s not bring race into this.

No, if I have a problem with service or cleanliness, I’ll go directly to the company and let them know the issue.

Yes, but it's been years and it was for a buddy's pizza joint.
I love yelp. I use it all the time, mainly to check out pictures of a restaurant's food/menu/interior (more-so than reading the reviews).
Thankfully there's a community that takes the time to upload some pics of mouth-watering meals with thumbnail descriptions because they've turned me on to some restaurants that were off my radar.
Sadly, I've had some really good meals over the past two years and have taken some savory photos of my own that I've been meaning to contribute back but never have taken the time to post.

No. I think about it a lot but over with it pretty quick.
Especially for food places like canes when I get a bunch of mini strips, and no extra fries for my cole slaw. Happens way to much.

If you leave a negative review and it doesn't pertain to cleanliness or outright bad service, you can go frick yourself.

That's my go-to anytime I get offended by an establishment.
