Banks report transactions over $10k.

I believe that is cash deposits, not withdrawals

Not to be a stickler but it's $10k and up. So a $10k transaction requires a certain filing with the IRS.

He’s obviously a smart MF and a jokester we were in PM school at Villanova University B.S. in 2008.

He could be playing a joke but he was serious when he came by the house…

If you get them from the bank they put them in clips at a thousand I believe?

I just thought it was funny as shite filled up two Maxwell House coffee cans…

Were you in such a hurry that you couldn’t wait?

That teller is going to be pissed tomorrow having to count that out if this story is real.

Not abt the number of transactions. There is a daily withdrawal limit.

Most banks can increase your withdrawal limit subject to management approval. They don't like to do it because they are taking in more risk if someone happens to get your card and withdrawal info. I have to call every year otherwise they reset it to whatever the default amount is.

From USAA website

Are there daily ATM withdrawal limits
quote:

Yes. You can withdraw up to $610 and make up to 20 withdrawals every 24 hours. Some ATMs may require you to make more than one withdrawal to reach your limit. If you need to withdraw a larger amount, you may request a temporary increase.

It’s very probable you could call USAA and have them temporarily increase it to do this.

Again the biggest question is why were both these guys in a hurry?

I bought a truck a couple years ago for something like $14,000 cash because Alabama had some stupid rule that out of state transactions couldn’t be handled with a check. I called BS on the dealer and I called a bank branch in Alabama and someone confirmed it. But besides something like this I don’t know why either a cashiers check or transfer wouldn’t be done. Much easier and safer.

I've seen people pay cash for cars and old collectible trains, but never in 20's. It would almost always be in $100 bills.

Most banks have a daily limit.

Of course maybe this guy is a baller. He is buying a Honda minivan after all.

In 1985, I transported 100,000 in cash New Orleans to Saudi to fund the companies emergency evacuation fund. Wads of hundred dollar bills in both socks, tied to legs and arms. Never got patted down.

He lied. There is a daily limit.

Why would he not at least do $100s?

No way I'd accept that

Not all ATMs dispense 100’s.

After years of consulting ATMs, I’d be a bit doubtful of someone claiming to have withdrawn $21K from one.
