Three times that I can remember.

1. In the late 90s, camping at the old Camp Claiborne and there was a torrential downpour/flood in the middle of the night. The tent was basically demolished. Slept the rest of the night in the front seat of my vehicle.

2. Front seat of a rental car at the base of La Plata Peak. It was about 0° and didn't feel like sleeping outside. Plus I was trying for a quick/early start.

3. Last Thanksgiving in the back of a rental 4runner in RMNP.

Like 50 times. Either too drunk or too tired. I once banged a chick in front of her house late at night. I ended up passing out. Woke up the next morning with her dad banging on my window asking who the frick I was

That would be exploration. As in exploring for the bottom of the bottle, which may have been due to financials.

After Katrina I had to travel through the deep South and didn't want to take a hotel room away from a family that had been displaced.

Wasn't the best nights sleep however.

Had a bad storm come up in the middle of the night on a tent camping trip. When the wind blew my tent down, I went and finished out the night in the car. Also have slept in the truck before starting a fishing tournament that began with lines in the water at 5am.

Yes.

If car is comfy, why waste cash on a room?

Usually road trip stop

Porn and weed

LOL..This brought back memories of a friend...He wanted to smoke some weed before going home. He pulls around the block... pulls over to roll his joint..He ends going to sleep parked behind the wheel. He wakes up to taping on the window...It was a cop..He got busted for the weed..

Yes, in a parking garage in New Orleans with two other people. Way too drunk for anyone to drive, so we tried to sleep it off. 6 hours later we woke up and caught a parade.
Too drunk to care about comfort

Oh yeah. Random crap over time caused me too. A few weren’t fun.

Once i got to where i got a duramax diesel, turn the truck on and just letting it run with the air on will make me sleep quite well.

Definitely slept in my truck during work hours on a Friday morning coming in hung over at work lol

Yes.

I like solo road trips sometimes.

10 nights. 3 hotels in there

The best night's sleep I've ever gotten was on 5 or 6 comforters, covered with high thread count Egyptian cotton, a Costco plush blanket, a down comforter, and 15 degree temps in Michigan... In the back of an old 4x4 SUV.

It was so cold all of my bottled water froze and my boots froze to the floor

Quite a few times in college. I lived at home with parents off Siegen. Went out to Tigerland and had 730 class in Lockett. Slept from 230-630 in Tiger Stadium Parking lot.

1) Yes
2) I guess you could say financial? We got stuck in a snow storm.

3) 2 days

4) We were smart and always carried blankets/food, and this was before cell phones were anything that could be used other than calling, so it was mediocre. All of that being said, it reinforced an important lesson to always, always, always be ready when you go into the mountains.

Driving from Maryland to BR when in college. After I fell asleep at the wheel, going 70mph, and woke up going almost off the shoulder. I drove to the next exit and squeezed between to trucks and took a nap for about 45 minutes. It was 4am and I dodged a bullet.
