No but very close.
Someone at my golf course had a massive heart attack on the first tee. After he hit his tee shot he walked towards the cart and went down. I was there within 60 seconds and one of my employees who was a former SWAT officer was already performing CPR. Guy had pissed himself and was unconscious. We worked on him for 10 minutes before the paramedics arrived. Worst part was when we called his wife who was at the spa and she showed up on the scene. The scream she let out will never leave me. A peaceful perfect day on the golf course and all hell was breaking loose. They loaded him in the ambulance and I thought for sure he was gone. Got a call from the hospital about an hour later saying that he was awake and would recover. Amazing that he survived

Have seen it a few times. It’s weird. Nothing like the movies. People instantly change color and look extremely dead immediately. Wouldn’t wish the experience on anyone.
I was 15 the first time I witnessed it.

Watched my mother take her final breath
Also heard 3 females screaming while their truck was on fire shortly after a drunkard hit them head on. Then the voices stopped.

Almost daily and it makes you jaded eventually

Yes. A couple that I remember.
A man that walked into the tail rotor of a Bell 212 helicopter and a man dropped out in front of me due to a heart attack.

Twice - saw a guy get assassinated in Key West when I was maybe 12.
Also saw the car in front of me hit a pedestrian going about 35. We both stopped and called 911 but his head was caved in pretty badly. He died at the hospital the next day IIRC.

My mother.
I missed my dad's passing by about a half hour

I've seen great violence in Key West, primarily done to my liver

Walked up on a lady pinned in her car a few seconds after and accident and saw her give up the ghost right there. Another driver, a nurse and I got there together. She confirmed it.
I was there for the last breath of a girlfriend’s momma and I was bedside when my wife took her last breath, a long exhale.
I’ve seen enough.

It was just a random incident, likely drug related, and me and my dad happened to be walking down the same street almost parallel with the guy but on the opposite sidewalk.

Saw my dad die in his house. Holding his hand. I feel at peace because I was there and have to believe he knew I was there.
Miss him everyday

circa what year?

Yes. Held my grandmothers hand as she died in 2004. I was a teenager. It had a profound impact on me.
It really messed me up and because of it, I don’t like getting close to many people so I won’t have to deal with the pain of their loss
That’s wrong to be like that I admit but it’s the truth

I don't remember the exact year but I think it was 90 or 91. I was old enough to go offshore snorkeling but not old enough to drive yet.

sort of the tail end of the cocaine cowboy era, makes sense, I've been going down there a lot for decades and I'm sure there's a lot that we don't see or hear about but it seems the big "crime waves" down there are alleged illegal parking

Yes, watched my mother die from cancer. Wouldn't wish it on anybody. Seen a few other people die too. I hate when people say they don't care if they die. From what I've seen, nobody wants to die, and they fight it absolutely until the end.

Yeah, no internet but I remember that it was on the news the next day at the hotel and we had to give a statement and our information to the cops.
