Had a customer that plead down to manslaughter. He killed his business partner during a fight over money. I was still working at the same place when he got out of prison. He opened another furniture store and called me to place a grand opening ad. I was nervous being around him until I sat down with him the first time. He was more pleasant than before.

Counting military, several.
Not counting military I know one. It wasn't murder, it was self defense but it fricked him in the head permanently. Ruined his life

I've known 3. The year the Broncos played the Falcons in the super bowl, a guy I was friends with got up at halftime to "buy some beer" and left our party. He was gone maybe 20 minutes when the phone rang. My girlfriend answered and started screaming "omg Todd just killed Charley". I was sitting next to the guy right before he left.

My cousin killed his best friends grand parents. Very messed up on drugs. He's in Angola now. Apparently he's found Jesus.

My cousin wasn't the trigger man but he was there and served time, was an actual honest to God racial incident about 35 years ago.

To answer the question, yes. My cousin did the deed over less than 200 bucks. He usnt talked about any longer by the family.

Well I guess all of TD knows a murderer now
Dude, there's like 15,000 murders a year in the US.Let's assume the victims all have 50 to 100 friends(acquaintances). That's 150,000 affected by murder every year. You have a far better chance of knowing a murderer or a murder victim over a Navy Seal or a professional sports player. It ain't that rare.

Was in the same class with a guy in middle school when he decided to rob and kill a convience store worker as she was walking out after closing up. He thought she had the stores money in a bag she was carrying but all that she had was a pack of batteries she bought.
He was arrested getting off the school bus at his home the next day and was trialed as an adult.

Yes.
And I know 4 people who should probably be charged with neglegent homicide if that's a thing, or manslaughter at the least.
I tried to kill a dude once. He got away though.
Edit. I forgot about a guy from school who got shot years ago. I didn't know the guy that shot him personally, but it was big news around here at the time.

My brother's roommate. As mild mannered and shy as they come. He joined a cult. When a family that was in the cult considered leaving the leader called a meeting in which the family were all murdered by the other cult members. It was in Illinois a couple of decades ago, they are all still in prison.

Have you ever known someone that committed murder?
Yep. Back in 1983. It was very well known around these parts, and the perp was a guy who had run for SGA President at LSU in the early 80's.

Yep, worked with a guy in my hometown. He killed someone in New Orleans in self defense. Then he relocated to my hometown in some type of protection program. The dude was a hot head. Did not take much to set him off.

Damn, I went to high school with both Eddy Lacy and Eric Reid, by statistics I must know a lot of murderers also
Edit: but yes I do know two also. One from going to school with him from K-8th grade. Armed robbery gone wrong and killed two guys. The other killed some random elderly man, beat him to death iirc trying to rob him for drug money and the old man put up a fight
