Grand Isle, in a bar around 11pm, in the winter. A fight broke out and when the cops got there, the dudes fighting made them leave.
They left and never come back.

In northern Maine the are all a bunch of French Canadian imposters and if you ask for ketchup on you bacon egg croissant sandwich they refuse and come close to an arse whoopin.
Definitely felt unwelcome after that episode.

Definitely Geand Isle...walked into a restaurant and it felt like the whole place stopped talking and watched us walk to a table.
VERY uncomfortable.

In Victor, ID I spotted a hole in the wall burger joint on the main drag in town. It was more of a bar but the burgers were amazing. No music, no one talking, no greetings. Just individuals at their tables watching burgers and drinking beers.
I made my order, the bar tender says, “you want yours to go”. I said “how’d you know?”, then I realize they weren’t being polite.
I didn’t mind because the burger was one of the best I’ve ever eaten.

Definitely Geand Isle..
I’ve been to GI 15 times in the past two years and really never received any odd treatment.
The only time I felt a little out of place was walking into this shack of a bar on the back side of the island down a residential street. We were staying nearby and I stumbled to the bar around midnight on a Saturday night. Got a few strange looks, but that was it.

Damn, only time this ever happened to me was when we stopped at hole on the wall bar in Memphis for a drink on way to formal in college. No one ever said anything to us but it was like time stopped when we walked in and everyone seemed to be thinking WTF are they doing here.
Found out later it was mob bar, which I guess explained it

The strange thing about Tennessee coming from Louisiana is how everyone up here identifies with what county they grew up in. Especially in the more rural areas.
It’s that way in most of Mississippi. But the Coast and the Delta get painted with a broad brush.

Nope, but I have felt unwelcome in large cities. Large cities are the most racist places in this country. Propaganda on small towns is false.

Oh I don't get ignored in Appalachia.
Because they all stare at me.
I know enough about small towns to know that they should be mostly suspicious of each other.

With this despicable request I don't blame them.

I once bought a 71 Cuda from an old guy in Edgartown, Ma. I didn’t find anything about Martha’s Vinyard friendly in the least except for the guy I bought the car from.

What I hate most is that wherever there are mountains there are suspicious locals who just stare at you for no reason.

Richfield Utah and Springfield Utah. A lot of places out there, if you’re not LDS, you’re a suspicious outsider.
I remember leaving in the morning to go fly out of SLC. Had a black suit and it was getting warm and I took off the jacket and rolled up my sleeves. (Didn’t realize what I looked like at this point). Went into a C-store after getting gas and the guy at the counter is just a jolly guy and talking and asking where I’m from. Told him Alabama and he asked if I was headed to the temple. (Then it hit me what I looked like). I said, oh no, I’m just on business. Smile dropped from his face and he was deadpan and didn’t say another word to me. It was funny and creepy at the same time.

You know BB as well? I am pretty sure I've heard him mention you a few times (assuming you are from Louisiana)
