. I figured it was common knowledge that political contributions are typically given in check form at events of that nature.

How embarrassing for you

You said that you had $75k in your pocket and you were nervous the first few times. Someone is more likely to be nervous with $75k in cash than $75k in checks that are written to a campaign.

Thus far the only people who assumed I meant cash were you and OweO....so that’s the company you’re in right now.
We are the only ones who posted about it.
Again, you said you were nervous having $75k in your pocket. When someone says I have x amount in my pocket.. I am nervous, that pretty much implies you have cash.
No one says "I got checks that add up to $75k written out to a campaign in my pocket. That shite makes me nervous AF"
Because... You know. If you lose cash there isn't anything you can do about it.

If you are not a millionaire and don't need any type of political connections,
If you live in a rural parish it absolutely pays dividends to be on friendly terms with the local politicians, especially the sheriff. That doesn't necessarily mean money, although it helps. Knowing he has your and your family's vote is a big deal.

I guess I contribute by being in the parades with my father who is ^.
It just surprises me that there are probably tons of people who do this, who more than likely is trash or ignorant.
I'm a Trump guy, but no way would I ever donate money. Just think how many suckers gave money to Hillary that lost out, or Beto who will never win. Blows my mind.

Would rather just throw it in the trash

Are political donations tax deductible?

Have you ever donated money towards a political campaign?
Yes, four different campaigns. One presidential, two for the senate in Texas and one House of Representatives member in California. They all love me because they send email and texts all the time.

No, and never will
Why would I pay money to a person apply for a job that I’m going to pay them for down the road?
There are very few politicians on either side that I like and there’s maybe one in my life time that has voted how I would 90% of the time that I’ve voted for.
I don’t know how to fix campaign finance but Beto received close to 80mm. In a senate race. That’s ridiculous.

I honestly don't know, I do know most tax returns are fudged in many ways though, so probably

I knocked on about 4000 doors last year for my friend who ran for state legislature.
He lost, but scored 41% of the vote against an incumbent that had not had an opponent in fourteen years.

You must be an esquire if you're using the word "forced." :)

It was cash in my head too. It was clear that your back and forth partners were talking about cash from the beginning.
I called bullshite when I thought cash, and I'm calling bullshite on those amounts in checks too.
"You've got donations? Just give the 6-figures of donations to that moron arse 19yo over there. He does a hell of a job poking h stakes in the ground and calling phone lists, so we're just gonna let him hold on to the money."

I guess you didn't make a large enough donation lol. Next year just suck a couple more dicks and don't accept cheeseburgers as payment. It's her turn next time....I promise, LMAO.

I've run a shite ton of fundraisers. Dinners. Meet and greets.
If you're hosting, and the average car is a german luxury sedan, and a baw pulls up in a Ram truck... He's donating real money.
