I am filling up my truck one day in Fultondale, AL and two guys pull up and one of them gets out and asks for 5 dollars to get some gas so they could get home. I said where is home. He said Florence, AL and I just started laughing. He didn't think it was funny and asked why I was laughing.

I said you dumb son of a bitch, I am from Florence and it's 120 miles from here and I know that POS car doesn't get 60 mpg.

Yes, Fultondale is a suburb of Birmingham. He was looking for some crack money.

there's a guy always sitting on this rock in the shade where you turn in to Chik Fil A. He usually has a bag of food someone has given him. He's there ALL DAY. One day i ate in the parking lot in my car, and noticed him scrolling on a damn smartphone while no one was driving through.

So that bum gets to sit in the shade eating chik fil A and fricking around on a cell phone all day. I want his life.

I once busted the crack whore (she's famous here on the OT) from a few years ago who claimed she was military (had an ID), and had broken her key off in her ignition and needed money for Pop-a-Lock. She approached me with the same story twice in about 3 months. Went nuts and started screaming when I called her on it.

On an opposite story, I was coming home late one night and a rough looking guy was stranded on the side of the road with some jumper cables in his hand right by Minute Maid park. He was visibly pissed at this point. The Astros had a game that night and nobody stopped to give the guy a jump. I pulled off and said, "you need some help?" He was so pleased and honestly just needed a jump and went about his way. Had been out there for 4 hours trying to get someone to help him.

That's unusual. If you have your own cables, most people don't mind giving you a jump if you need it. That doesn't cost a penny.

There used to be a guy at the walmart on college and he would always show his license (expired) and say he was trying to catch a bus to Lake Charles for work. First two times I said I didn't have cash, but the 3rd time he worked towards me before he spoke I said "Damn man you aint caught that bus yet?" He laughed and said no and just walked away.

My buddy in Lafayette was leaving a Walmart one time and he saw a couple of black dudes working on a truck in the parking lot. He thinks, oh shite, this is a good time to play some race karma, help a couple Democrats, feel good about myself and help them out.

He asks them what's up and if he could help - turns out they were finishing up whatever was wrong with the truck. But the truck wasn't theirs, they were helping out the truck's owner, who was white and on his phone a few yards away.

He felt pretty upset about that.

While picking up lunch a well dressed older lady gave me a sob story about herself, daughter and granddaughter being stranded in Lafayette because of car trouble. I gave her $20 and headed back to work and told my coworkers about it. They both repeated the lady's story and informed me I had been scammed. I saw her two more times and simply pointed for her to go in the opposite direction, which she did both times, because I was so angry she "got me" that first time.

Outside the Nike outlet store on Carrollton. Some kid walked up to my car asking for money because he had to "feed his little brother". I looked down, saw a $200 pair of LeBron's on his feet and told him to sell his shoes. He gave me the finger and walked off.

I keep getting people that say they just need X amount of money to pay for their "prescription" and they try to show me some kind of empty med bottle. I wanted to tell the last guy that he was gonna need money for a pain med prescription to remove my foot from his arse if he didn't get out of my face. But I was polite and just said all I have is my credit card on me.

In AL, you Can always just look at the license plate and tell what county people are typically from based on the first cpl #s.

1990's: I'm managing a restaurant in Baton Rouge and a guy comes in.

His story: Wife is pregnant, they haven't eaten all week. Shows me her driver's license, says she's in the car, too weak to get out. Asks for cash or two free meals to go. I tell him to go away.

He returns the next year: Same story, same driver's license. I tell him to quit knocking up his wife and send him on his way.

When I get hit on at the gas station, them always "out of gas, need money to buy a gas can and gas, etc.." tell them the following:

"Hey man, I'm real sorry, but my brother is with the police department. They have a service where they send someone out with some gas and cash for stranded motorists. Here... I'll call him right now and see if he can send them over."

Man, they always turn around and haul arse as I get my phone. I'm like, "Hey! Don't you want them to come help?"
