If you told me I could keep my current annual salary, yet work only 9 months per year as a teacher, I would say, "frick You!"

I ain't spending my time with those little shitheads and their ignorant arse parents, not to mention moronic school administrators, for any amount of money. Find another sucker.

I taught in NOLA, now I teach in the NOLA burbs. Most of the charters here are a joke. There are some that aren't bad, but for the most part they are plagued by the same shittiness that plagues public schools. It's a social problem that won't be resolved until you address the economic problems that plague urban communities.

That being said, I love what I do. Most days I feel like I'm doing something worthwhile. No, I don't get 3 months off, but I get more than enough time off. To be fair, I need that time because without it I'd be even more batshit than I already am.
