I found out recently there is a sprint triathlon at Oak Mt Stare Park that has my attention. Swim 750m, bike 8 miles, and run 2.5. Haven’t committed to it but I’m already at a point I can run a 5k in 35ish mins and bike frequently on the trails the race would be on. Just gotta work on the swim but have until May.
do it. thank me later.

SCUBA - check
Surfing - Check
Fly fishing - check
Private pilot license - check
Skydiving - check
Paraglider - ... Debating whether I'm too old to try this now that I'm past 55.

Army knees and back. No way in hell for me. I’m relegated to rack pulls and if I do squats, no more than 2 wheels, but I’ll rep them out.

I have not achieved all of my athletic goals. I still have several that I’d like to tick off and am in the process of ticking off. New goals come up every year and I’d say I have at least a decade provided I stay in shape.

That said, if I suddenly lost the health and ability to pursue athletic endeavors, I’d be able to look back and be reasonably pleased with what I did achieve.

I wish I had taken more advantage of my abilities when I was in my 20s and had the time.

I scored 12 goals in my next to last soccer season (at age forty-something) - which is good, because my legs went to shite pretty quickly thereafter. But I felt I could still GO when I walked (limped) away.

I've run 10 half marathons - I'd like to run a full, but see above.

I'm good, I think. I'm still grinding - but I'm happy with my accomplishments.

Yeah! I can still jump rope, do pushups from my knees, (Not my toes), thirty sit ups, and walk a fifteen minute mile, at age 82.
Very fortunate.

If darth enters this thread I still have unboxed models to build.. Mostly sci-fi.

I need to get them soon or just accept they're not getting built.

Kinda melancholy thinking about it.

did that in the first round of golf I ever played.

not sure I've even birdied any other hole in my life, so absolute pure luck.

I’ve played golf three times in my life. On one of those times I hit a hole in one on a par 3 at the (former) golf course in st francisville

it’s pure luck no matter who does it

this has been one of my goals for a looong time. I hunt a very average Louisiana lease though so not sure how I'm going to accomplish without changing something

another is the NWTF Grand Slam

I had one on camera a few years back that might have made it. Saw him once while hunting. It ended up ruining my deer season because I was passing other bucks I would have been very happy with if I hadn't seen him

I'm gonna be doing my 10th OCR next month.
I've been skydiving.
I've been cliff diving.
I've been swimming in open water with tiger sharks and bull sharks, in the wild, not on guided tours or something. I wouldn't mind getting a white shark at some point, make it the top three maneaters.
I've been less than a foot from a hole-in-one twice, still haven't had one drop, and I shoot in the low-mid 80's but haven't scored in the 70's yet.

My dad was a private pilot, and of the few fond memories I have of him, going flying was always the best. I wouldn't mind getting my pilot's license at some point.

Being in my 40's now, it takes a little longer to recover from injuries and they happen at the weirdest times. I'm a FF/EMT, train for OCRs, actively ranch and work cows, etc. Somehow I got the lamest sports injury over a month ago, partially tearing my biceps tendon in a fricking bowling tournament

Most of my risk-taking days are probably behind me. I'd like my kids to be old enough to have memories of seeing me at the fire station, or I'd have given that life up already. Time for new hobbies.

I'm 44 and started bow hunting when I was about 15. I've seen one deer while bow hunting that would've qualified. I only know b/c someone killed it during rifle season that same year. it was about 10 years ago I'll need divine intervention to pull off my p&y buck on this lease
