What you're feeling is completely normal. Humans are never satisfied. We're just wired that way. As others have mentioned, having kids will help you a lot. There's no greater joy than raising a child.

Another is Facebook, people always posting pics about how grand their life is with vacation shots and other great things in their lives. People really feel like their life is shite cause it's not up to someone else's level. Don't buy into it... Their lives are like everyone else's, with peaks and troughs.

Studies have been done that show FB use causes depression for this very reason.

Got out of the shithole that is Kenna, broken home, straight trailer trash. Now middle class living in Fl, home,cars, everything paid off, married, Navy vet, 2 adult kids. On the road to retirement early. Thinking of traveling the rest of the US I haven't seen.

I'd bet the increase in unhappiness is directly related to social media and other entertainment.
That shite isn't real, its fake or just a moment in time. People are jealous of stuff that is pure fantasy.
