connect from Birmingham to anywhere on Delta, and 80% of the time it is through Atlanta - 22 mins typically wheels up to wheels down.

Shreveport to Dallas was the same flight. Had to either do that on american or through Memphis or Atlanta on Delta. The Dallas flight is an hour, hour fifteen from gate to gate.

Train travel is getting ready to make one hell of a comeback if those seats actually come to fruition.

been that way for awhile, actually started before deregulation, Pan Am had some of their 727-100s cattle car configured with around 170 seats, JAL had some 747s with 650 seats in them, the 727-100s we operated had 118 seats, the 747s just under 300

How are the FedEx planes? Are the boxes packed in super tight?

Just asking in case one day the thought of mailing myself to my destination starts to make a little more sense.

Yeah 30-40 flight time.

Haven't had anything but RJs since the remodel I think. I've been gone for awhile though.

If it was for a 3o minute flight I don't think it would honestly be a big deal

Until you get stuck on the tarmac for an hour+. If you thought planes were hot just sitting there...wait until they pack another 30-40 people in them with these seats.

I thought I remembered bigger jets in the 90s in the old terminal.

used to be, Delta used to fly DC-8s into SHV, I flew the last 727 into and out of there for my company, the next day the flights were replaced with Saab 340s, 34 seats, iirc

Yeah I remember those.

Thank God I only flew this once.

I always liked the RJ with 3 seats. Flying alone and grabbing the lone seat was great.
