It is the worst part of all the joy that comes with having a best friend with 4 legs. Prayers for you both....I have 2 - 11 year olds...dont know what I will do when that day comes...I hurt for you.

I really hate threads like this. You can just tell how sympathetic people are, in every good bye best friend thread.
We've all been there, or know that we will be there. Knowing the pain you will go through, but still wouldn't trade it for the world, because you were their best friend too.

We had to put our oldest weenie dog down last Saturday......I feel for you, bud.

Same here. We had 2- now just 1. Me and the younger one have been spending more quality time together. Me and him are both going through the same thing. We are going to spoil the shite out of him now

So sorry for you Buckeye. My little girl of 16 years died 2 weeks ago. We were their holding, kissing and petting her till the end. Miss her bad! I hope we see pets in heaven.

People are so quick to put down animals. Its crazy that you think amputating his foot/leg and keeping him alive is selfish for YOU. But killing the dog instead, isn't selfish for YOU. Either way you slice it, I bet the dog wants to live with you until it is its time (death of natural causes).
