I’ve had employees on both. The one on methadone wound up going back to heroin and overdosed. The one on suboxone fell asleep while driving a company truck and rear ended a stopped vehicle totaling the truck, the car he hit, and injuring 4 people. I did not know he was taking subozone. Don’t know how that helps you but I honestly wish you all the best in recovery.

methadone but he’s writing it for pain management
The whole point of methadone originally was that it was a strong pain reliever that doesn’t give you a buzz (which is why they use it to get people off drugs). Geez...how much methadone are people taking that they get a buzz from it?

Probation and Parole Officer who happens to be a drug treatment specialist.
Suboxone seems to be having better results from what I’ve seen. I’ve had quite a few hard-core addicts go on it and stay off the opioids. That being said, I’ve also had a few die this year who were supposedly doing well.
My honest opinion is that you need to go to a detox facility and sweat it out. One way or another you are going to go through withdraws and you will wish you were dead.
Best of luck to you. I hope you clean up,before you die.

You're probation officer recommended Suboxone?

Man like others have said. I’ve changed my stance on MAT a lot. I used to be against it heavily. But lost so many people I knew to overdoses my opinion changed a bit. I think vivatrol and sublicade can’t really be abused. I’ve seen people detox off methadone for a month and that shite gets into your bones. It’s no joke. AA worked for me. Took me a while to get willing and take suggestions. If you need any help/suggestions just let me know

Suboxone has a longer half life but methadone makes you feel better. Both are hard to get off of.

You know the drill.....
Opiates > Suboxone > kratom
....from what I understand.

Kratom, if used properly, is a much better and more manageable way than the other 2. Methadone will just reform the junkie into a new junkie. Suboxone...I do not know much, but I do know that people will take it recreationally (who are not on it as a routine).

No. I handle my problems without pills.

Except suboxone is an opioid as well. It isn't a full opiate antagonist like methadone or heroin for example but it is a partial antagonist. There is euphoria involved with suboxone but not of the same magnitude as other full antagonists. Suboxone is stronger than morphine and street grade heroin as well.

If so which helped you the most?

Sub WD was awful. That’s all I can say to help you out, other than this: The bill always come due. The more of whatever you do and the longer you do it, the worse the tab will be. Fact.

Using drugs to get off drugs is a pitiful way to beat addiction.
Find a way to quit without getting on something else. It's not a winning solution.

You’re not in recovery or on the road to recovery with either.

Methadone is terrible. That stuff soaks in your bones and will rot your teeth after a while. The withdrawal from that makes dope look like child’s play.
Suboxone is just as bad if taken for an extended period of time. The best thing to do is just take enough to get through withdrawals. Take it for 5 days then start to taper off. I wouldn’t take it longer than 10/14 days. If you’re still having symptoms after that just man up and push through. It’s not gonna kill you.

Never had any experience with methadone but I do know people that would get really high in it. So it seems like that would kinda keep you chasing that feeling.
With subs I never felt anything after the 2nd time. They are both very long-acting and stay in your system for a long time. The trick is to taper down to a miniscule dose before stopping to mitigate the withdrawals. My withdrawals from sub wasn't as intense as the oxycodone but damn if it didn't drag on forever. I was still in the worst part after 7 days. But like I said, it was nowhere near as intense as other withdrawals. It still sucked though.

If you want to keep getting high then go to the methadone clinic. Methadone is some good dope plain and simple. Suboxone will help you much more than methadone.

I took suboxone once in college. Made my stomach cramp/hurt and throw up my intestines. It didn't not get me high.
Hope this helps

Jesus, I wish the people who fight these demons the best. Stop this, for yourselves and for your families.
